I vote for Hitmonchan!
Speaking from a Pokémon card collector's point of view, Hitmonchan has better cards out there than Hitmonlee or in this case, Hitmontop.
It is also the only one of the three to have a Pokémon-ex version of it.
From a Gameboy Player's point of view, Hitmonchan has the ability to learn Fire Punch. Thunder Punch, and Ice Punch which are very versatile attacks.

Hitmontop is a lot better than hitmonchan. The elemental punches are useless on hitmonchan, it learns mach punch which is its only naturally learned move that people use. Hitmontop is a lot better in GBA, and has its own promo card. It looks like a lot more fun, with the whirling and such. Also, hitmontop isnt known for being a cheap nuisance:

^^^ this is what happens when you like hitmonchan. he (it is a crossdresser) is a traitor and a backstabber.
