Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

CO States 3/1/2008

Missed you Adrian at CO States. Best wishes to Anny. Good luck next week in NM. Michael and I are going to UT along with Jared and maybe the Branders. Hope we can sweep 3 states!

Michael figured GG would be everywhere, so he went with Speed Bannette. He never saw GG in Swiss and lost to Jery's Blissey w/tech and Jared's Shiftry/Honchcrow. However, all his opponents did well in the final round, so dispite losing, he actually moved up 2 positions to finish 5th.

In the quarter finals, he faced Roberto's GG and won fairly easily. In the semis, he faced Armando's dark deck which he matched up better compared to Jared's dark deck (whom Armando eliminated in the quarter finals). Despite losing the first game, Michael was able to win the second game. In the third game, he went up quickly and won using Ghost Head a number of times.

In the finals, he faced Ian's GG-tech deck. Ian's tech did very well for him the entire tournament. Despite Michael's advantage in the weakness matchup, Ian was able to win he second game due to a key mistake by Michale and the inability to recover from that mistake by top-decking the cards he needed - either a TSD or Nightly Maint. In the third game, Michael went ahead quickly by two prizes before time was called.

Yea... gratz to Kevin! I thought Pablo had ya! To bad I can't go next week to states, another trophy never hurts. ;) lol I should've just stuck with Banette, but I was pleaed, especially with my undefeated record (only person to do it in seniors, and first time this season, besides a BR when I went 5-0 aswell). Yea, great judging, c you all at regionals!

Ian: No prob. I....I mean the JAPANESE will do the same thing for regionals. ;)

Juniors

1st-Tristan-GGw/Tech
2nd Nick? GG
3rd ?? Honchkrow
4th Chris Bannette

Of course Tristan won. I think you just had to say this kid got 1st with this deck and everyone would know it was him!

Adrian, sorry for Anny and your loss, you were missed.

Thanks to Dwayne, the Staff, and the Players for a great day!! Ran the Juniors, with some great support from Stewart. I think he spent more time in the Juniors than I did. The Juniors were great to work with, as always. No problems there.

Looking forward to Regionals.
