Cheesy Songs FTW!

Yeah, T1 Butterfree. Not much to it. I fear Magmortar but around here, Magmortar is kinda rare.

16 Pokémon:
4 Butterfree GE
4 Metapod GE
4 Caterpie GE
2 Vespiquen DP
2 Combee DP

30 Trainers:
2 Time-Space Distortion
2 Night Maintainance
3 Rare Candy (Mainly to build benched Butterfree)
4 Pluspower
3 Crystal Beach
2 Professor Birch
4 Great Ball
4 Quick Ball
4 Pokédex Handy910is
2 Master Ball

14 Energy:
14 Grass Energy

Strategy: Try and get a T1 Butterfree. If that fails, not horrible but not what I'd want either. Try to swarm Butterfrees and get a Vespiquen ready. If Butterfree becomes endangered, it has (butter)free retreat (Sue me for bad puns), so another Butterfree can come up. If 2 are endangered, send in the 'Quen to heal those two, and let 'Quen rest in peace.

-2 Vespiquen DP
-2 Combee DP
+2-2 Mothim

-1 Great Ball
-1 Quick Ball
+2 Roseanne's Research

-2 Grass Energy
+2 DRE or Scramble

Silver Wing and Parelle Drain can work well together. Vespiquen tends to be good in theory but bad in practice.

I'm curious to know how this does. It seems pretty quick.

I Really love This Deck - I Like The Name, The Song, The Pokemon, The Attacks, and the simplicity of it. If It Is meant to be simple.

i Do Have A Few Fixes - but in general do you mind if i make this into a deck thread myself with my fixes.

Thanks - Youre A genious

with that poke-power you can evolve on 1st turn?
and evolve 2 times in 1 turn?

because both actions are againts the rules ,,

please explain to me how they work if im wrong.

at the best case, in 3rd turn you can have a butterfree,, am i right?

Yes, using a pokepower you can evolve a pokemon the turn they come out and evolve them twice, same as using ascension from the CG Shuppet to evolve it into banette...

Yep, you're off.

The whole "Can't evolve the turn this card came into play" thing applies to when you play an Evolution card normally from your hand. It does NOT apply when the Evolution card comes down as an effect of a Trainer Card, Supporter, or Attack (IE: Rare Candy can be used Turn 1 to evolve a basic into a stage 2, 'cause you're using a card effect. Jirachi Hidden Legend's "Make a Wish" attack can be used to evolve a Grovyle into a Sceptile, even if you evolved Treecko into Grovyle that turn, 'cause it's the effect of Jirachi's attack.)

Additionally, you can use BOTH Caterpie and Metapod's powers in the same turn, 'cause they're two different powers. Since you're technically only using each one once during the turn, you're not breaking any text on the card.

"But wait, what's this about the 'This counts as Evolving Caterpie' text?" Ah, the confusion of english wording :nonono:. This is referring to the whole "Can't play an evolution card on something that came into play this turn" thing, meaning you couldn't use Caterpie's power to evolve into Metapod, then regularly evolve into Butterfree by playing it from hand.

That kinda make sense?

I'd also agree with Mothim over Vespiquen. Since Parallel drain can pull damage counters off ANY of your pokemon, sounds like a good idea to increase it's damage rather then basically lose a turn. Heck, that's why you're playing Pluspower, i'n't it?

More Birch for sure. With Birch being your only hand recurrsion, you'll want a way to recover a hand fast after using up all of the regular trainers you can. Trying out a few copies of Rowan and Team Galactic's Wager to act as support for Birch isn't a half bad idea either.

Rare Candy on the other hand seems a tad rediculous. You'll rarely need to Rare Candy a Butterfree, given that you'll just draw into it's evolutions, or bring up a Metapod and Flip Heads. :/
What you DO need is some Windstorm or Warp Point. Warp Point isn't a bad idea, since your pokemon all have free retreat once finally evolved. But obviously Windstorm gives you a more permenant solution to Cessation Crystal. Kinda need an answer to Crystal, since your quick evolution recovery depends on it.

I also don't know how useful Time Space Distortion would be. Seems like Night Maintenance solves your pokemon recursion problems good enough, with powers searching from deck as well as some Balls.

I'm starting to wonder though... How useful would Cessation Crystal be in a deck like this...? CLEARLY it'd be worthless in the first few turns, while you're trying to use Caterpie and Metapod powers. But Butterfree has no powers, nor does the tech you decide on (I like the Mothim idea more then Quagsire, but either should work)... This'll screw up Claydol users, Delcatty users, Gardevoir users (not like Garde has much to do, but you get the point), Palkia users, etc. Sure, you're more vulnerable to Pachirisu for one hit. One hit that... You fully heal away with a Pluspower on a Butterfree, for one grass energy. ANY Butterfree can do this. Don't see much of a reason to not tech in maybe 2 copies for use once you get a Butterfree.

Interesting in any case. Have fun with the 25% chances of Turn 1 Butterfree (and yes, I do know how downhill a match can go for your opponent once that happens)~

Well, I Put The 2-2-2 Empoleon

2-2 Mothim

4-4-4 Butterfree

to test and i came 3rd at cities.

I thought City Championships were over?

Anyways...My brother like Butterfree and even took a magmortar deck (Mine) down to three prizes before losing.

So the Quagsire Fix, above I really like and will be going into my brothers version.

Cities, Over! Please Cities is just beggining in england. Nayways Whats Ure Borthers List

What if you put a Feebas Milotic line instead of Quagsire? The Feebas can help speed evolution up, and Milotic doesn't take damage from lv X.
