cosplayers freaks or just misunderstood

Ren Fair.......

In my 20's I worked ren fair for many years, and it was fun! plenty of wanton wenches, strong ale, and yes, they ARE nuts! Hang out in the German camp for a night, or with the Pirates!


I worked it when Ren Fair in So. Cal. was held at Glen Helen out here, way before it was bought out by a corporation. Things were loose, adn fun, but when the suits came in, it because another tourist trap. They finally moved it to Irwindale.

I like to cosplay as well. I may not know how to make costumes very well, but I try my best. There were a few cosplayers as well at worlds this year ... especially the pikachu cosplay ^_^ OMG .. SOO CUUTE!!! I see nothing wrong with it.

Cosplaying is only acceptable if you're a hot girl. That rules out 99% of the cosplayers.

I don't believe that percentage is as high as it was written. I've been to a few recently and cosplayers have improved greatly. That being said, I'm hoping to try it soon...not what you're thinking I'm sure. :biggrin:

Unless you have a physical resemblance to the character do not try it. I did it once, and I have to say it was weird. My ex-GF and her friends (they are among the 1.2% of attractive cosplayers) asked me if I would dress up with them as Naruto characters for Halloween last year. They go to an art school, so they made everything and while it looked good I still thought it was kind of odd (mainly because I hate the show). I would not do it outside of a Halloween party, and I really do not understand why people would spend so much time and effort into it. They spent 4 weeks on the costumes and then they spent another 4 hrs on make up. Maybe it is because I do not have the time, but I see it as a waste to spend so much effort on something that you only use once or twice a year.

just kidding, but ya its really the people that do it wrong that make it look bad, just youtube cosplayers and ull see what i mean, good and bad...
