This was the claydol and uxie back in they day.
every deck needed 4 of these to use the holon engine.
this practacally made 7 holon mentor, 7holon adventurere, 4 scientist, 6 researcher.
this one card made decks so stable it wasnt even funny.
almost all competitive play involved transceiver.

it was at elast 12/10 in its prime.
it is also a trainer card that raeched around 15/16 dollars for a uncommon and 20/25 dolalrs for RH.
 
In unlimited, Holon Engine is still pretty decent!!

VS Seeker's Big Brother and did it pack a punch!! This simple little Trainer CHANGED the Pokemon environment once everyone caught on to how it should be used!

10/10! I would take the Holon Engine over SP any day of the Week!
 
Really good card for the Holon Engine. The ability to get any supporter with holon from the deck or discard is amazing, and said card can still be used in the same turn since this card is a trainer. How amazing is that? The holon supporters are all very flexible, it can fetch Farmer when cards needs to be recovered, Lass for energy, mentor for basic pokemon, or reasercher for delta Pokemon or metal energy, and scientist for a "copycat".
So in short, this is a really good card for Holon supporters that aid the delta theme. Excellent card, it has a much better engine than pokemon SP.

Today's CotD Flashback is good ol' Holon Transceiver from DS...either you had this little baby and your Holon Engine worked perfectly, or you didn't have it and you spent the season QQing about it and settled for the inferior Castaway Engine till you finally got some. But yeah, this is THE card that made Holon Engines possible; letting you search your deck OR discard for a Supporter with Holon in its name is an extremely powerful, flexible effect, as the Holon Supporters themselves are pretty powerful, but combined with this Trainer and your ability to find or reuse any, it became the must-have card. I'd even wager to say this was far more powerful and dominating in its time than even Uxie or Claydol are today, as literally any deck could use it and the bounty of options the Supporters could produce (draw, recovery, etc). So yeah...good times. I really miss this baby...

Unlimited - 3/10 (There are many better Trainers out there just as powerful as what this card could have got back then, but it still has its uses I suppose)
 
6/10 in Unlimited (Snowking), gets you a quick Sneasel and Slowking on the bench, but Dunsparce Sandstorm could be better than that to get basics out instead of using Transceiver to get back a Holon Mentor, but there are other Holon Trainers you can use it with like Holon Farmer, making it just as versatile than Dunsparce in certain situations. I wouldn't bother playing more than 2 of it in any Unlimited deck, because you will probably not get away with that much. We now have Pokemon Collector, but Holon Mentor with Holon Transceiver 1. Helps you discard unnecessary cards and 2. works with other supporters.
It's like a Sableye (Stormfront) and VS Seeker at the same time (if that makes any sense).
 
You guys better freakin' worship this card. This was the cornerstone of the Holon Engine. Those of you giving it scores below 8/10 must be new to the game or just bad players.

The reason it was good, was because the supporters to back it up, was good. Now, we only have 6/10 on average, supporters, which is why, it wouldn't be as good today. Staraptor FB, can do this even better, though it is harder to get out. Only problem is, that the format we have today, doesn't give it the same supporter support.

Back in the time of Holon engine >9000/10.
