Cursed Shadow Ability

My question is about the ability Cursed Shadow. As the text says on Chandelure:

"Once during your turn (before your attack), if this Pokemon is your Active Pokemon, you may put 3 damage counters on your opponent's Pokemon in any way you like."

So if Chandelure is your active and you use cursed shadow, Could you retreat and use switch to bring chandelure active and use cursed shadow again?

[DEL]Yep. [/DEL]

[DEL]If it can't be used again, even on another Pokemon, it says specifically.[/DEL]

EDIT: Wait. I read that wrong. Only once per Pokemon. As in any given Chandy can not use it's ability twice.

No.

Another Chandelure? Sure. But not the one that just used it.

My example is saying an active chandelure uses its ability and then retreats to a jirachi. I then use switch and bring the same chandelure to active. Can he then use it? I immediately thought no but a couple of people were saying otherwise. Just wanted to clarify for myself and others

no. no he can't. if it helps, think of it like magnezones power magnetic draw. you can use one magnetic draw power per power that is present on your side of the field, once per turn.

The card refers to itself, so you would not be able to use cursed shadow from the same chandelure, even if you switched it and retreated back to it. You could use a second chandelure's cursed shadow though, because the power is self referencing.

from the compendium:

== SHADY MOVE (Banette EX - EX:Legend Maker)

Q. What are the rules for using Banette-EX's "Shady Move" Poké-POWER?
A. You can move 1 damage counter from any Pokémon in play to another Pokémon in play; it can be different players' Pokémon or it can be the same player's Pokémon (either you or your opponent). (EX:Legend Maker FAQ; Feb 16, 2006 PUI Rules Team; Feb 23, 2006 PUI Rules Team)

Q. If there is more than one Banette-EX in play can the player perform "Shady Move" more than once (i.e. perform Shady Move with active, then retreat, switch, etc., perform it again with the new active)?
A. Yes, you could do that. However, going to the bench does not allow the same Banette-EX to do Shady Move again; you are limited to one Shady Move per Banette-EX per turn, assuming you can get them into the active slot. (Apr 20, 2006 PUI Rules Team)
