Many folks want answers about exceptions & non-Pokémon avatars... really we're not going to have time to answer those individually, post 1 & 2 pretty much say it all in terms of type of Avatar & limits on lettering. Lettering is iffy in general, because its hard not to do an ugly job...

The TC consensus that created this new guideline is that it is not just non-bad avatars that are OK, but Pokemon related Avatars that are required... As Pop said, its partly because some members had their fun with sexual violence and porno references in their avatars. The other half of it, which we discussed at length is this -- the avatars ARE the graphic decoration for these Pokemon boards, so the non-Pokemon ones go on the general social networking websites, not here. This has been up in the FAQ for weeks.

I've tried to figure this out and I can't find the answer. With more time, I could. The best thing I can say is, if you have PNG, also save as GIF. Then you're ready to go. 80x80 pixels, 19.5Kb are the maximums that can't be exceeded.
 
Jran, you do know the size of the images have to be below 19k. Both of your files are almost double that.

So I assume that I can keep my current Avatar because it does not violate the rules. Also, will I have to "re-upload" my Avatar?
 
It's 5:48 here in the US East Coast, and I still don't see the custom avatar thingy.
 
Look up the time on the world clock people. It's only 3:46 PDT right now. 3 more hours.
