I've got a handy contact in Japan who got his hands on images of a flyer depicting 3 cards of the new Starters from Diamond and Pearl. He's just sent me some scans which I'd like you to check out. I'm guessing they're either promos, or the first images of cards from the set itself, can't say for sure.

As promised, the card design has had a slight overhaul - the flavor text's back and there's some minor cosmetic alterations, although most things stay intact including the circles - probably the best we could ask for really!

So as promised, here are the pics.

The images are too blurry to tell what the set/promo thing is. The card format is different, AND they are done by Ken Sugimori(he always resurfaces when the next generation of Pokémon come out). I'm going to assume(for now) that they are promos. However, they could be cards from the next Japan set.

Either way, cool find.

They remind me of the old e-card things, only without the dot code.

I thought it was sort of flashy myself. Then again, I liked the e-cards when they were around.

Anytime someone gives you pictures like this, just assume he's making stuff up. This is just like all those pictures of "monsters" they show on TV- have you ever seen a not-blurry picture of any of them? No, it's because they're not real.

I'm not saying the pictures in post #1 are fake, but really, if these things are real, then certainly they should be able to come up with some better photos. Darn, Pokemon TCG info sure does seem to leak easily...

Like I say, the guy's usually pretty good for this kinda thing. Not to mention a brilliant musician! But usually first images can be pretty poor (Rozureido anybody? Elekible? Kooroboshi?) - in a few weeks we'll either get better pictures, or he'll be proven very wrong.

well, from looking at the picture in the seconds link, it looks like a small pic, so maybe that is the best we can get? but the first is bigger.. maybe we'll see a clearer one of these soon!!! I LOVE THEM!!! they look amazing... except i imagined them to have a smaller border!

these look pretty real to me... and a contact from japan!?! wow.. i wish i could speak japanese!!!

i reccon there real.. i hope you can get clearer pics :S

I'm surprised on how those borders are similar to the fake card I made for last year's April Fools!

Anyway, I'm pretty sure that on the bottom, there will be only the usual stats, and no flavor text at all. There's no space for it nor for the Pokédex infos. Unfortunately.

Actually, I distinctly remember reading the return of Flavor text. I think it mightve been on this forum. Ill try to find it.

Maybe the bottom has the flavor text in it like "bug pokemon or whatever, and height and weight?!?!
as well as the pokédex number? that'd be neat wouldn't?

That was Wizards thing Nintendo doesn't do that anymore

I read it on PokéBeach and there is the apparent proof. Interesting...

I for one, am welcoming the return of Flavor Text. I used to love it, along with the numbers and such. It made Pokemon so much more than a card game... *nostalgicsigh*

these look real to me. kinda cool, actually.
also, there isn't an owner's name in the pokemon's name, so i think you all know what that means... ;)
