Once the hype dies, the price goes with it. It won't be as sought out as much as something like Charizard EX or Lugia EX. Also considering Darkrai is weak in this format, I doubt it will be that much. Price will drop.

If it does go back up, it won't be until after nationals.

Also. Moral of the story. Don't follow the hype and spend more money than a card is actually worth.

Awwww man, Matthew's b-day is the 26th. Here's hoping that Target puts them out early or he gets a gift card or two for his b-day.

It only makes the original one sel for more! I imagine it will sell for $10-$20 dollars more. Just my thought. My cresselia is ending tomorrow so I'm safe.

I want to buy a few and resell them. Lol, If I got another Lv.X in a booster in the tin I would laugh so hard.

I'm not gonna bother arguing this statement because it will just end up turning into some stupid back and forth flame war in which both of us will end up wrong and look like complete buffoons. All I have to say is so long as tins are out, you guys won't be making money off of it unless people are completely blind and don't go to Target, ever.

Anyways, I'll sit here and enjoy a card that actually is useful in format, unlike dunky Darkrai.

These cards really shouldn't affect the value of an unrelated card. The only way the value of Cresselia LV.X would jump like that is if it became a popular play in a LOT of decks.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Yeah, I think he's saying this since the actual demand for Darkrai will be greater, but they'll be selling cheaper because of the massive supply. Say there were as many Charizard ex on the market as Darkrai LV.X, then Charizard ex would surely be cheaper! It all has to do with supply and demand. High demand + high supply equals decent price. High demand + low supply, like in Charizard's case, equals high price. So yeah, his statement makes sense when you think about it hard enough.

For once I agree with you.

If anything, all you people need to stop whining and need to realize that by purchasing these tins you obtain the packs free (and that ugly tin) with a possible profit once you sell that Lv. X inside.

How can you say that? Lugia and Charizard were never released in tins at all, so there were no where near as many of them produced. With these new tins, there are just going to be that many more Darkrai Lv. X cards produced. People who are smart are just going to go to target and shell out the 16 bucks for 4 packs and the darkrai. While yes, the Darkrai tins are going to be the hardest to find, I don't think for one second that they are going to be impossible. Collectors are going to be willing to pay a little bit more for the non ton version of course, but overall, Darkrai's value is going to level out. It already has started. The card was overhyped from the get go, and people are scrambling to trying make a deck with it. As a seller, I do realize we're gonna take some cuts on it. People will still buy the card, but not for all that much, especially as the tins become widely available.

No worries for for me I pulled 2 Darkrai LV.X's one from pre-release and the other from a box.

Uhhh. Well, Lugia ex was printed in the Words deck LBS, and even the "fake" one is worth a lot. So, there are plenty of Lugia ex out there.

I'm talking about legit ones that are tournament legal. I am not referring to the WC decks at all. I can't believe people pay that much for a card that they can't even play in a tournament.

I think the only people that pay high prices for WC cards are naive to the fact that they are not legal or do not care because they just want one in their binder. In other words, usually kids or parents. It makes me mad.... No one should rip off a kiddo.

Unfortunately, it happens. Some people will do anything to get things at a discount price just so they can inflate the prices on their own.

It makes me just as mad as it makes you, Heather.

Surely the tins themselves cost quite a bit to manufacture and ship, and no one actually wants the tins, just the cards. The clever thing to do from a marketing point of view is just sell the cards packaged with a few boosters and forget the tins altogether cos I guess many of them are just ending up in landfill sites anyway.
