DB Lock

So i came up with this deck idea (at least i think i did lol) that involves Blaziken FB and Dialga G and Unown K. I think it is the perfect lock and can pretty much destroy any deck. The strategy is to first take 1-2 prizes in the beginning of the game with Blaze lv.x. Then u set up Dialga G and luring flame one of their bench sitters and then switch to dialga G before they can save the bench sitter. Then you deafen lock till time is called or some event like the person scoops. As the damage piles up from burn and deafen, u use unown K to take off damage in between turns. I called the deck DB Lock and ive tried it out and the lock usually begins t3-t4 so its pretty fast. Also, u may think that they would use unown q to get out, well ive got somethin to say... SPRAY!

Discuss the deck. What do you all think of the idea?

Im tryin to think of an idea of how, but since dialga g will be out der for basically the whole game, all you have to do is poketurn blaze and fill energies on dialga so he can retreat.

Not to sound offensive but this is one reason why pokegym is starting to get a bad rep.

Y'all are hyping deck ideas that are subpar at best.

Ever heard of retreating? Attach an energy, and send something that can KO or at least damage the dialga. Like I understand Deafen Lock can be crippling, but the opponent just needs to attach an energy(s) to retreat and they can still use supporters and powers.

These kinds of threads where people brag about this "awesome deck idea" they had and it really isn't that good or proven just irks me.

The deck seems flawed. The best way to play Dialga IMO is to just play straight DialgaChomp

Do you even know how to play this game...? Why wouldn't they be able to retreat just because they have a special condition?

^ I don't think

you read well enough. They can't retreat because they are affected by a special condition. Luring flame urns its victim. If you lock them up by burning them and use deafen to stop trainers, then there is no way the pokemon cannot get off of the active slot. You do know that the deck isnt only about deafen lock, you have to luring flame them so they cant retreat first and then you lock trainers.

Actually, lucario, the only special conditions that prevent retreating are paralyze, confusion, and sleep. Burn in no way can stop the active pokemon from retreating. On the flip side, I like the idea. The deafen lock is very fun to implement, and body lock also hurts. Good idea, just sounds too chancey.

EDIT: Varna, come on. If he doesn't know how to play the game, why are you smashing him for his ignorance of special conditions. And by the way, lucario isn't a half bad player.

EDIT: Shuckle, it can, so i didn't leave it out.

^ wow i feel dumb. 2day, somebody told me that burn prevented me from retreating so i believed him, and then thought of this idea. I guess can just go with luring pokemon like regice up and making it take longer to retreat, but oh well. Sorry professor elm, didn't mean to sound rude, and in the process made myself sound like idiot lol. Yes that is a flaw, but don't grade it subpar timm you actually look into it in depth first.

I made t16 at regionals at my second tourney and I went by the rule u cud retreat even bin burned but 2day someone convinced me otherwise. He was wrong. Don't tell me I don't know how to play the game just becuz of one mistake.

Thank you for standing up for me, and yes, I see my mistake, thank you for politely correcting me.

Well, on the bright side, playing LUXRAY and combining Bright Look with Deafen is a great way to stall

Are you trying to deck them or something? I like the idea though. Creativity FTW!!! Maybe some kind of retreat lock. Ariados? :nonono: i dunno. Hope this deck turns out good :thumb:

yeh, my idea was to either deck them, scoop them, or let it end on time with me up s few prizes. Thank you for the compliments. I was milead on some rulings so the strategy isnt as foolproof as i thought it was.

Why not just tech in like a trapinch and stall them using that?

Or even better use this with Ariados and force them to use their warp points?

tranpinch has low hp and cant really attack. blaze can be poketurned and can burn its victim. ariados is a good idea though. better yet, if i can force them not to retreat, then deafen lock stops trainers leaving their bench sitter helpless.
