What a low thing to do....

I would seriously kick you out of a tourney if I was judging and saw you pull something like that. I would even go as far as to suggest a short ban from the game. Ripping someone off like that so close to Christmas makes me sick. Merry Christmas Scrooge.

I wouldnt rip anyone off, If that person said they watned X amount of money for that item. i'd pay for it. I would not say, "well you know what i'll give you 10x the amount you want for it." I am sorry i am a broke student, and I am all about finding bargin prices.

Next time you go to the store make sure to pay 3x the amount the register says for your stuff and we will see how that works out for ya!

Like you can kick someone out for making a good trade.

It was her offer. He was happy, she was happy. That's the perfect deal.

Good Call. Thanks!

Sorry, sir, you lose.

You know the fair market value of something. You know the seller doesn't. You intentionally keep it to yourself so you can get the item well under FMV. That's tantamount to fraud.

You cant tell me that you have NEVER got a sweet deal on something that saved you lot's of money, and in the end felt bad about it and payed the FMV. Have you ever bought a car or a house? You will try to barter with the salesman to get a better price, a price that you think is fair. I didnt have to barter because she had those cards set at the price. If i had had to choose a price i definatly would payed $100 for all those cards.

She priced everything acording to what ebay was selling it for. So I dont feel that I ripped her off. She said that she wanted $20. IF you go to the swapmeet and something it $5, your not gonna ask the person if you can give them $50 for it. She wanted $20 and that's what she got for them. No harm was done.

i also suggest you all hit up your local craigslist and see what deals you can find. believe me if you find someting as good as mine, you will probabl;y stop hating on me!

She didnt ask for $100 for the cards i picked. She was trying to sell me the rest of the set for $100 because she didnt want to have to deal with selling it to other people. She was a mother who didnt care about the cards and wanted to get rid of them and didnt have to time to deal with it.

AND IF YOU ALL HAD THE CHANCE I KNOW MOST OF YOU WOULD DO THE SAME! If you find a good deal on ebay your not gonna ignore it, or tell the seller your gonna opay full retail price for it. No one has ever done that.

IF she checked eBay, she would know that Chex itself is a $50 card at the minimum. So, unless she doesnt know how to do a search, I dont believe that.

It is a completely different issue to buy something on an AUCTION site where you bid UP. eBay wont let you contact the seller directly and pay them a different price than what is listed (as least, not legally).

Just remember, Karma can turn around and bite ya whenever you least expect it! I guess it is the openly brazen bragging you are making here when you know that you completely ripped off someone that YOU had superior knowledge about the situation that is getting many ppl upset here. IF this was a business situation, they may be able to sue you bc you did take advantage of them with your superior knowledge.

Bottom line, what you did was allowable, but despicable.

Keith

classy =/ cherry-pick the good stuff AND rip her off...and then come here to brag about it? were you expecting congratulations for unethical behavior, by chance?

'mom

Nope, just trying to make people aware of awesome deals you can get on craigslist.

When you go to a gargae sale and see a huge TV for $15 and you want it, do you ask them if they are sure thats how much they want to sell it for? Do you offer them more money? If any thing you try to barter with them to lower price, because it's something they dont care for and they just want to get rid of it, just the cards I purchased.

I'm sorry that Bargin Shopping 101!

I am pretty sure everyone that's posting on here hating me, might be a little jealous on the sweet deal i got. I dont know, it's just a thought.

I think the point's I have made in the thread are enough proof of no wrong doing's. As for Karma,

Karma- "act, action, performance"[1]; Pali: kamma) is the concept of "action" or "deed" in Indian religions understood as that which causes the entire cycle of cause and effect .

Cause- I got a freaking sweet deal!
Effect- Now I have cards taht i can trade for stuff I need!

I dont't see that my action's where wrong. So really there is no negative karma coming my way.

Bad karma to you sir. May you reap what you sow.

THank you. I will! I will have a sweet deck for CC's and hopefully win!

everyone is hating on this kid because he got the deal and none of you did. the lady offered him a price. only a complete idiot would offer her MORE than she wants. this kid said he's a broke student, too.

you got an amazing deal sir. i am jealous.

the lady probably wanted to get rid of them quickly for gas money or something. seriously you guys are being ridiculously harsh on this kid.

Thanks Rambo, it's ok I enjoy the haters. If any one came across a sweet deal they would take, no question's asked.

first. pm me for address. I'LL GIVE YOU $20 CUZ THAT'S WHAT YOU PAID.

Ok good point, well shouldn't I have payed $3.99 for 10 card's, because that's how much she payed for the booster pack they came in,

Something is only worth how much a consumer is willing to pay for it, I was willing to pay $20

A deal is a deal sure.... No one can really say their eyes wouldn't light up to get those cards for that price.... But don't you feel just a little guilty about it dude, seriously? Get the lady a Christmas card with a Wal Mart certificate in it, buy her a slab of fruitcake, shovel the snow out of her driveway.... Something! Those are some sweet cards man..... Here's a gutcheck....

I'd give you $100 right now for that list.... Put the Zard EX on Ebay (which goes for unreal prices around the holidays), along with all the tin X's.... get my $100 back and send the rest to the lady on the other side of this story.... You'd have a 500% profit and YOU'd be the one that got sacked in the deal.....

I'm not bagging on you.... but moraly, I'd go back with another $50, tell her you want all the rest of her cards.... She'll be happy because she wont have to look at them.... You could give all the extras to league kids like suggested and spread a lil' Xmas Cheer to the kiddies... You'll look like DA MAN in front of the local Poke Community... You'll still be up because of the Value of Cards you got.... And your Ying/Yang Bruce Lee Chi will be back on par...

Think about it.....

That's awesome and all, but I don't want to sell them, that's not the reason I bought them, I got them so I can have them in my collection, and use them to trade for card's I need in my deck.

So sorry to anyone that though I was actually selling them. I am not.

It's all fun and games until it happens to you, e.g. selling your car for 500 when its worth 3000. Good luck in life sir, because I honestly hope it does.

...except its not a fair trade because one has more knowledge of what something is worth then another. Usually its the owner, but if I was to sell you a pound of gold for 20 bucks, you would sit here and say its a fair buy? LOL @ you.

There's "getting a good deal" and then there's completely ripping someone blind.

The mother was only happy about it because she didn't know a Leafeon Lv. X was worth more than an Eevee or Caterpie -- so thought you were taking some % of the cards for an equal % of the price.

Not very classy, man :nonono:

It's not a fair trade if one end of the transaction is unaware that they're being taken.

To those that say "she was happy with it"...ignorance is bliss. That doesn't mean you should take advantage of said ignorance.

Suppose you had a kid at league that was willing to trade a Charizard ex for some random common card. He may have been happy with the deal. That doesn't mean it was good or fair.

Yep.

This topic is the typical "this guy did something bad, let's all jump on him, when he's happy".
Way to rain on this kid's parade. Did you maybe think that this was Karma? Perhaps in his "past lives" he was really nice, and now some god is showing him some luck.

Really though. All of the people saying that he's a jerk for ripping her off, need to re-evaluate what they're saying. Something is only worth what it's worth to the person selling or what it's worth to the highest bidder. This whole argument is subjective and full of opinions, and I personally think this kid just got lucky. Lay off.

EDIT: Does anyone really know that the mom had no idea what these cards were worth? Don't make so many assumptions.
