Dialga EX Fast Forward vs. Silver Mirror

When attacking a pokemon who has silver mirror attached, does the discard associated with fast forward still work?

I am of the opinion that it should, since silver mirror states it only prevents effects of attacks done to the card silver mirror is attached to, and the discard has no effect on the defending pokemon... But this was not a shared opinion at league today!

No, mirror doesn't prevent it. Mirror only prevents effects done to the Pokemon mirror is attached to.
Think of it like this, there is a small water stream. You are the only person who sprays water repellent on your shoes therefore your feet do not get wet.
Mirror would be water repellent.

Yep im still ocnfused

that analogy does not work in this situation. Silver mirror would prevent effects of attacks done to the pokemon it is attached to. Since Fast forward places its effect on the defending PLAYER, the effect will still go through.

There is a ruling with chatot where his attack will not discard the mirrors, because the effect of removing the mirror is an effect on that pokemon, therefore it is blocked.

To restate, yes my analogy works fine you silly heads.
The mirror is considered the water repellent. Nobody else has the water repellent(mirror) attached, so they get the effects, mirror does not.
You can't attach a silver mirror to the top of your deck.
