Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Dialga/Palkia G DECK?

I respectfully disagree.

Now, to get back on topic...

I'd definately say you'd want Spiritomb and Crobat G to be at least around in a Palkia G deck. The idea is to spread damage, after all. And they'd help you get that damage spread, followed by a quick Lost Cyclone to get rid of them before you have to worry about them being sniped or clogging up your Bench.

Lots of 'play from hand' powers seems to be the name of the game, here. With Power Spray to ensure that you don't get locked in return.

No, that's not the idea, actually. It's to stop powers.

My first post in this thread was to show that many so called experts on the 'gym are not experts at all. I saw people make entire "SP guides" that didn't mention dialga or palkia as main attackers, or as the real threats from PT.

It wasn't to brag about having a winning list. The list does no good, you can get a pretty decent one by just trolling the 'gym now. As for that one kid's deck, I suggested he go down to 1/1 because it obviously wasn't the main attacker in the deck. A 2/2 dialga line? So that they won't be prized or something? 1/1 is fine- prizing a component only 20% of the time, when you won't need it for the majority of matches. His strategy had 4 weavile, 4 toxicroak- a dialga isn't going to help set anything up and would detract from his setup. I look at the deck in front of me, and try to make it the best IT can be. Not what I want. I have had Dialga G built since last year, literally. I could have told him all the cards to drop to make his list look like mine, but that wouldn't have helped HIS deck. HIS deck was weaviles and toxicroak, with a tech dialga to (I assume) get rid of bodies and the like). He had no darkness energy for his weaviles, no draw powers, and only 3 gyms. Let's face it- if Dialga G X is used as a tech pokemon, then you need a 1/1 line. If he's an attacker, it's a 3/1 line. His deck was based on, from what I saw, using croak and weavile, not dialga, so I tried to help his deck accordingly. I doooo think it's cute that you took the time out of your day to search for posts I made in the deck help section. I'm glad I'm so important :thumb:

I'm not even quite sure what this deck is trying to talk about. Is it referring to A palkia/dialga deck, or palkia decks, or dialga decks, or both or all? I'm very proud of my deck. I worked very very very very very hard for months and months. Out of 7 people who ran my list, 6 made the top cut, and it brought home FIVE trophies. 5/7. 2 firsts, 2 seconds, and a third.

I know that what has been posted so far is only indicative of one variant- palkia/dialga together. This was not the only galactic deck with success. My two galactic decks are different, but I can't reveal their contents, as we have another state and regional left.

Whenever somebody feels so superior that they must publicly gloat, but cannot willingly help another person...
Seriously, you have no idea who I am. You don't know if I've helped people with this deck or not. I didn't post to gloat, just to say that I would take anything I see here with a grain of salt. Remember, the so-called experts posting in this thread are the same types of people who expertly decided that dialga was a tech pokemon, etc. That was the point of my post, and I tried to back it up by saying that I have had real, evidential success with the deck, and I know for a fact that this thread is only partially correct. I can't correct it myself because, well, I am invested in the deck and can't reveal the contents of any of my decks in any way. I hope you guys understand why, as when you work countless hours to make a deck, you don't want to just give it away to bloodsuckers doing no work, and when I still have tournaments to attend.

I think I make it more than obvious that I help people. I post deck articles, am the only moderator for the deck forum (although, luckily, people like P_A and other mods come in to help moderate), and do genuinely offer good, solid advice to people. Could I do more? Yes. But it would be a hindrance to my own success, so I won't. If that makes me greedy, so be it.

Well, the idea of the deck in general may be to stop powers, but that alone does not KO pokes. Pearl Breath and Hydro Shot clearly lend themselves to spread, and Crobat G just helps there. Not to mention using Crobat G/Spiritomb to prep a target for Dialga's Second Strike.

But, after a bit of thought, I think I'd scale back on the CrobatG/Spiritomb cards themselves. They're nice, but Palkia G & Dialga G seem very much like the meat-and-potatoes of the deck. And Pearl Breath is definately enough spread to set up for Dialga G's Second Strike without the others. (As is Deafen, in some cases.)

So, I'd probably run...*thinks*

3-1 Palkia G Lvl X
3-1 Dialga G Lvl X
1 Bronzong G
2 Crobat G
4 Mesprit (LA)
4 Uxie (LA)
1 Azelf (LA)

4 Power Spray
4 Poketurn
4 Energy Gain
3 Cyrus' Conspiracy
4 Roseanne's Research
1 Luxury Ball
4 Premier Ball
2 Pokemon Rescue
4 Warp Point

4 Special Metal Energy
2 Metal Energy
4 Water Energy

At least, that's how I'd start, before play-tests.

@Ryanvergel: I am certainly aware that you have frequently offered advice to assist others. I wasn't trying to suggest otherwise, and if anyone inferred that from my comments then I am sorry. All I was commenting on was the quality of that one post.

I'm sorry your post was the example I used, but it was the most blatant example (at the time) of something that had been showing up a lot...people posting saying that they know something noone else knows, but they won't say what it is.

I don't find fault with you not sharing your private deck lists and I wouldn't think to suggest you hand out the hard work you put into your deck to people who aren't willing to put forth similar effort.

I would just rather people not post unless they are willing to add something constructive to the conversation. (Either a valid question or additional info.)

I think the main power from this deck is that it can keep up a lock of poke-powers and pokebodies together. Dialga G lvx takes care of your bodies and with 4 mesprit and 4 poketurn, assuming you can play them all ofcourse is a 8 turn pokepower lock. In that time, dialga lvx should already have taken care of your claydol. You can be happy when you get to use your claydol once. Uxie drops are pretty useless with power spray. Super scoop up for mesprit can possibly extend the lock for 2 or t3 turns and Crobat G along with poketurn can raise the attack damage from Dialga. And they only have to set up a dialga lvx with 3 energies and a (is it called energy drain?) to hit for some sweet damage. And galactic can set up swiftly with honchkrow, Cyrus investigation and other support. The added effect of dialga lvx his attack also discards energies to the lost zone so if he hits one heads you are one turn behind. Dialga can also make use of that trainer blocking attack of him.

You can't Poke Turn Mesprit...It isn't an SP pokemon. So, SSU only for Mesprit.

Generally you want to save at least 1-2 Poke Turns for your Level X, anyway, so you don't lose too much steam (or give your opponent a prize) for continued blows to your Dialga/Palkia G.

(Also, it's Energy Gain not drain.)

What's the point of helping people who will not listen and won't be grateful for the help?

If I recall, most of the good players on the gym swore not to help about a year and a half ago, you guys didn't seem to care then, so most of the good players left, with most of the remaining players either getting banned for life (such as Shellshocker, Sparta, Adam Garcia, Desert Eagle, ect). The ones who remain are apparantly keeping their word.

Incase of tl:dr, deal with it.

lol, i've been here a month and I already know that. To all: Noone's going to GIVE you a decklist that's good or bad. Either make it yourself, buy it from someone, or idk something, but dont post "wah I want a decklist!!!"

People like Ryan, Sparta, shell, etc have worked hard for hours on their decks, why would they give it to you?

Common sense.
