That ape really isn't going to be that good with no d pokemon. A lot of things can do 90, Banette can do 90 for 2, does it break the format? No.
Banette's an ex and can't do 90 on the second turn, nor can it use DRE, Scramble...

Lucario looks very appealing for a possible NEW School Haymaker deck
I mean 30 for 1. 40 and 20 to bench for 2. that's crazy good for a 90HP basic pokemon.
Not to mention how easily it can be used w/ other good basics like Stantler AND Cessation Crystal.
AND we are also getting Pluspower (from what the japanese spoilers said) which will be GREAT for this kinda deck.
EDIT:
I realized we also have another great basic that provides safeguard, Wobbufett! AND the Latis.
Lucario is a Stage 1 :/

at least the new basic energies will increase the chances of getting dark and metal in a prerelease
I thought Lucario was one of the legendaries...
I guess I heard wrong...unless they're starting to evolve the legendaries..

You can not use old sets with new sets at a prerelease.
