Seriously, they lost such a huge opportunity here... Both the current and upcoming cards look SO BAD. I feel zero hype for them... It's almost as if they didn't add no new mechanics this new generation too.

Are you kidding?

Japanese on an English card!
It's a collectors dream!

I'm not sure about where u live but here everyone dislikes them o.o U can also see it reflected in their prices, even if they arent viable, if they had good art they would be more expensive

I hope mega kanga is super good.. cuz the charizards are pretty bad D; they get 1 hit by keldeo with 3 energies

No, one gets one shotted by Keldeo, the other by Xerneas. Meanwhile they both OHKO EVERYTHING in format, Y without that major of a cost (especially figuring Emboar and Protect Cube) I think you're underestimating how viable the Charizards can be.

Also I like the artwork personally. Sure I think the direction they took them might be better on FAs, but I think they're pretty neat.

I'm not thinking this is the right thread, but neither of the two Charizard are better at what they do then RayEX is. Fancy != Better.

I do wish there were FA versions, oh well. The text swap is a nice touch though.

RayEX relies upon Emboar from start to finish. M-Charizard EX theoretically doesn't even need Emboar at all between stoke, firetorch and blacksmith and furthermore does not discard.
As such, M-Charizard will still be theatening 300 unless it's taken out when at the same time RayEX is threatening 60 if Emboar is taken out.

It would have been nice to make all EX or SR cards full art this time around. Saves resources and set space.

TC I can see what you mean as I thought the same thing originally, although now that I have a few in hand I actually kind of like them. True they probably should've still been Full Arts as well, but I think I can live with how they are now. And as another poster stated, the Japanese text is a nice touch.

They're saving the full-arts for the Mega EX Lv.Xs :p
Oh, they're going for those at that point? Thought they would've saved the Full arts for the Owner's Dark Light Shining Mega Pokemon EX-ex Lv.X Star Primes. Guess not. Goes to show how much I know.

EIther way, the Mega Pokemon are...interesting, art wise, but functionally and collectors value-wise, I don't particularly care about them until Gardevoir and Bannette come out. Hell, I'll prolly make decks out of those I love those Megas so much.
The Zards to look cool though. Those arts I actually like, but the Venusaur and Blastoise we have look kind of...eh. They seem to be a lot more functional as well, so that's nice.
If I had one gripe, it's that they don't have a Lv.X-like rule, where they inhereit the EX's Attacks/Abilities. It makes the Megas kind of One-Trick ponies, and it would have been cool, especially with the multiple Charizard EXs coming out, making people choose which fits best.

I was originally expecting the Mega Evolutions would work like Lv.X cards. It would make sense, given the evolution and all that. A shame they weren't default full arts. I thought I was the only one who wanted UR cards to be full art by default, seems like others are thinking the same. While Japanese is cool and all, IMO it doesn't have a place on English cards, it looks like they've been lazy and couldn't be bothered to change the text. I also like the Mega-Charizards, and since I stopped collecting after Legendary Treasures, I'm tempted to buy singles of those cards when the next set finally lands. That does seem terrible value for money though. I'm also looking forward to the other Megas and I'm wondering how they will work. If they worked like Lv.X, I would expect Heracross EX to have coin flip dependent moves and the Mega would have an ability to make those coin flips heads, similarly to the Mega in the videogame.

In Japan those attack names are in English across the artwork. Lazy would have been the English attack names repeated on the artwork.

Hey, don't forget about the Pokemon Prime from Heartgold Soulsilver series.

I heard there was a Pokemon in Heartgold Soulsilver series called Optimus.

I also heard there was a Pokemon in the XY series called Tron.
