Does anyone know where this is from?

I got this snorlax from the gts yesterday and its from some country (i think its chinese the writing is all lines and curves) and it was at lv 50. it said it was from Faraway Place. Does that mean it was caught in HGSS? or what?
 
I thought snorlax couldn't be caught in xd. i checked the list on bulbapedia. Snorlax isn't on it. I read that it meant traded from HGSS to platinum or diamond or pearl but I'm not sure.

Uhm... Bulbapedia's information is accurate. :/ But if you have any complaints, I'll be more than happy to listen to them as Archaic rarely frequents and posts here. As for your question, "Faraway Place" means that it was caught/bred in HGSS.

Ultimatedra, I believe XD and Colosseum show up as "Distant Land." I could be mixed up, though.
 
I remeber that "faraway place" also appeared on any pokemon you received from Bridgette in BOX.
 
I'm sure that the faraway place is HGSS becuase I got me a Ho-oh at lv47 from Japan and thats were it said it came from and I don't thank I have ever got a pokemon from XD so I couldn't say what that would say were it was from.
 
Ho-oh from Faraway Place would be from Pokemon Colosseum, the predecessor to XD (i lol whenever i right this). Both the Ho-Oh and Lugia from the GCN games were caught at LV 47, so thats good for you as it means it does not have an EV investment :D
