I know that WOTC had different levels of certification for MTG judges.

Is there anything similar for Pokemon?

There is Professors and Master Professors for that, and TOs and PTOs, those are the only levels that I am aware of.

The Pokemon Professor program is designed for any player who is an expert of the Pokemon-e TCG and wishes or had experience to help out with tournaments, leagues, and premeire events.

No League Leader, Judge or Organizer has to be a professor however doing these sort of events can pay off in product compensation if you are a professor. So if you participates as a League Leader, Judge or Organizer, then being a professor is a very good idea.

The test is not out yet but it will be a very hard multiple choice test of about 50 questions that covers Game Rules, Rulings, Tournament Organizing and the POP Floor Rules. You should have a very comprehensive knowledge of the Rules, Tournament Rules, and the Compendium, before taking the upcoming test. The test requires an 80% passing grade in order to become a professor.

Expect the test to possibly appear in January.
