Donphan Counter??

Hey,
Im currently building a Raichu deck. A huge problem being Donphan. I would like to know any counters to Donphan either as a tech or a secondary attacker maybe.

Dusknoir SF17 does a decent job at annoying it back, especially with Noir LV.X it bypasses the body in no time in terms of damage counter output.

Sadly it's not going to 1HKO a Belted Donphan Prime, even with Expert on Dewgong. The only Pokemon I know that can 1 shot it for 2 Energy is Arceus Water with Expert....

Why not? 80 * 2 = 160, -20 from Donphan's Body 140. Even with belt it's a OHKO. Am I missing something?

Well, it gets a bit harder to use if you don't play water Energy and that makes it a tech that can only attack after 2 turns....just like Arceus Water.

Yeah, but it should last 2 Turns, should KO 2 Donphans without needing a Belt, and doesn't need DCE. Drawback is that it's a Stage 1, but...

best counter, gyarados MT. they do forty to you, attach rainbow energy, ohko them. add a belt if they have a belt (obviously you'll be using the MT magikarp).

this works against donphan terribly... i'll posion you for 2 at a time... while they struggle to 2hko my crobat g who will just get poketurned anyway. then it takes bout 2 turns for it to whittle down to one shot range.

however this doesn;t work against flyphan, nice poison... i think i'll retreat for free.


the only counter to it with raichu is to kill it with water as its a complete auto loss even with sunny shore, their damage output is huge.
