Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Donphan Prime counters

Stage 2- I personally like kindra or samurott, and even in magnebore 1 kingdra is great same with samurott,

Stage 1 decks- yanmega is the best choice to go with.

ZPS- yanmega or samrott are ones I have seen played, and I personally like yanmega,

Yanmega can fit into any deck and is a great counter but it is a little pricey and it may be hard to get,

I'd do a 1-0-1 or a 1-1-1 Kingdra Prime. It's helpful on the bench once Donphan is gone, instead of just taking up space. You would need a PlusPower to OHKO it, but 2-shotting and/or a couple Spray Splashes would work too.

A lot of Donphan decks are teching Reshiram right now.

EQ has good synergy with Outrage, and it makes Kingdra Prime near useless as a counter.

Lanturn one-shots Donphan for 3 energy. Donphan one-shots Lanturn for 1 energy.
I do wonder who would win THAT prize-exchange. Here's a hint. It ain't Lanturn.

That is true, but you have to look at some other factors. If it's ran in Emboar, and Feraligatr decks, then it can be as fast as Donphan in powering up in one turn. Also, if they can recover their Lantuns from the discard quickly, they can pose problems for Donphan.

Think about it this way. Who loses more resources....the answer is Lanturn.

Just how in the world are you going to partner up Lanturn and Emboar AND Reshiram? (thinking about the Resihboars)

I think it is called, you run 2 Plus Powers and only use Junk Arm to get Energy Retrieval back.
But you also run Fisherman...so, there's that.
