I'm running a Diamond/Pearl/Platinum tournament a couple nights before HGSS comes out for DS at my Gamestop store. I'm posting this in hopes of getting a little bit more interest within our community. I've got some locals excited about it, but figured I'd open it up to the masses too, in case anyone wants to get in on the fun.

It is also the night before any TCG States on the 13th, and I wouldn't mind playtesting after the tournament. If any of you in the area want to play, just let me know on AIM. Pretty much standard rules, no Ubers. Prizes will probably be Gamestop giftcards and Pokemon stuff from my personal collection (in-game Shinies, TCG stuff, etc.) Trying to get a good turnout for this, if you can make it I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Here's the flyer for the tournament, with rules, location, date, etc. Prizes/Time are not yet set in stone because that all has to go through the District Manager first. Plan for an evening tournament, though (around 6 or 7 pm).

Singles, should've specified. It'll be 6 on 6, pick 3 for each battle. (I think. If we have time it'll just be 6v6.)
 
Why not make it on the 19th, the day before IL States? That way, you'll be sure there'll be a buncha people that are at least in town for the event ^_^

Mostly because my manager wants to get some butts in the store before the game comes out - hopefully get some preorders down for HGSS. I initially was going to run it on release date, but he said it'd be better if we got more people in ahead of time cos it would already be hectic that Sunday.

If I get pull 20-25 people into the store for this I'd be more than satisfied.
 
Unfortunately I can't make it to this. My uncle is visiting from Boston that weekend so I have to stay home to be with him. So, unless it's ont he 19th then im out
 
Sorry for the late bump for this thread, but I just wanted to let everyone know that this is going to take place this Friday, March 12th at 7PM. Top prize will be a Gamestop giftcard for $20 dollars (possibly more depending on attendance). I will also have TCG-related prizes for all entrants and in-game prizes for the top three placers.

Again, this is going to take place at Addison Mall Gamestop in Chicago, IL - rules are 6 on 6 singles, no ubers. The full details of this event are in the link in the original post. Thanks, I hope a few of you in the area can make it.
 
Wish I could come, but I've got Judging duties in Madison on Saturday...
