Dragon Prerelease Attendance #`s

What I think is neat is that 15+ seemed to have the strongest showing in most of the tournies ^_^

We had a lot of players for the 10 and under, which half of them have never played the game before and wanted to start.

I counted 28 at Orlando, but maybe one of our professors can give exact numbers. I know we only had 2 in the 10-. I'm sure we would have done much better if not for another tournament 12 miles away.

How was there another tournament only 12 miles away? I didnt think they were held that close.

Madison, WI: 17 players

15+: 5
11-14: 8
10-: 4

Note that this was the first prerelease held at this location (and 8 of the players were from my league and drove 70 miles).

Actually I believe it it was 10 for 11-14 and 2 for 10-. The TO gave me a player listing (which is back in Janesville right now). Minor issue, though.

Professor Renee held her own Sanctioned tournament the same day, which Im going to assume was do to a lack of coordination between T.O.'s

57 in Costa Mesa (Los Angeles); the vast majority of players were 15+. I believe the breakdown was something like 5 in -10; 14 in 11-14, and the rest 15+...

Total of 57 is correct, however the breakdown was 5 in ten and under, 17 in eleven to fourteen, and 35 in fifteen plus. All had a great time.

57 from Costa Mesa is decent, but it could have and probably should have been MUCH higher...
I agree, but there were some factors that probably affected attendance:

1.> A lot of people went down to Pokemon Rocks San Diego the day before (which I may say was a very successful and fun event :thumb: ), and essentially used up their "Pokemon allowance" for the weekend.
2.> Many of the San Diego folks did not come up to Los Angeles (Costa Mesa, technically) because they are having their own Pre-release down there next weekend. I figure that if you take the combined numbers from the L.A. & S.D Pre-releases and divide them by roughly 75% (assuming approx. 25% of players will attend both events), we will definitely see an increase between the Dragon and Sandstorm events.
3.> Sunday - traditionally not a good day for Pokemon events, at least from my observations. People have church, kids have homework & school the next day, etc. I realize this is different by areas, so individual results may vary.

Anyway, I don't want to get too far off-topic, so I'll stop there.

Later,
- CHRISBO
