DSi release today [4-5-09]. What are your feeling on it and how it performs.

So far, lighter than expected, quality sound, internet on the go, and over the best hand held game for me.

[I wrote this message from my DSi lol]

You use the DSi channel to dl the DSi browser (for free). Then use the Wifi to connect.
I am using it right now and it pretty cool to use. It just takes some getting used to. ; )

I'm loving my blue DSi, but they were pretty vague on the whole WPA and WEP thing. Sure, the DSi system itself supports WPA and WEP and gives you access to the DSiware store and Browser, but the games that have been released already don't seem to want to connect to WPA(at least my WPA). So unless I'm mistaken, if you're getting a DSi and expecting some WPA Pokemon love, then don't count on it.

I didn't have Wifi working until today and now have both WPA and WEP, haha. Games look so much better on it, now.

When I went to league today some people had it. I'm trading in my original DS for a discount on it. It sucks that it doesn't have a GBA slot though. The camera feature is kind of random though. I mean, come on! A camera on a game system. Cool, but random.

With all the negative I had been seeing about the cameras on it. It is actually better than I had expected. That and I was expecting to HAVE to get a SD card to store them which I didn't have to. It does have some memory set aside to save some 400 pictures. : )

Also, if you plan on migrating and such with the GBA slot. I would recommend you keep any DS or DSlite's. Seeing as Gamestop would only take $40 off for a DS (which is what I have) and $70 for a DSlite, I spent the extra $40 and now have both. Now I can trade from Diamond and Platinum anytime I want, as well as migrate from the GBA games.

I agree, there's no reason to give up your DS/DS Lite if you still intend on using it for Pokemon (or that GH series on the DS). I know I personally plan on keeping both, I just want a DSi because it beats having to keep on using Phat DS like I have been since it came out.

Questions for you guys

1. How do you get it on the internet?

2. How do you play the downloaded games?

If either of these require Wifi, I really don't want it.

It's useless for Pokemon players, there's no dual slot plus it can do everything an Ipod can do, really?

Why not to buy an IPOD:

crappy warranty
break easily
not even close to the caliber of games Nintendo offers
I rather not spend 200$+ for an iPOD and you do not get a camera unless you get an IPHONE which is at least 200$ for the OKAY one.

And if you're complaining about no dual slot is chances are you will still have your DS/DS Lite.
Especially such as myself has 2 DS Lites (Don't ask) I'm not losing much if I trade it in especially if I save 70$ since I find that to be a pretty darn good deal.

1. Go to Nintendo DSi Shop on you DSi, Click Start Shopping buttom, Click DSi Ware, Click DSi Ware Free and you should be able to download DSi Browser.

2. Download them to your DSi. When fully downloaded they turn in to a box on the main menu. Click it to install

You'll need Wifi (WEP or WPA) to get in the store. If toy do manage to get in there before October you'll get 1000 free points. I highly suggest getting Birds and Beans and unlocking the 2nd game in the menu. It's so much fun!

DSi supports WPA, but only for DSi internal functions (i.e., the store), DSiWare, and new specially programmed games (don't know of any). This is done by restricting WPA to the 3 new connection slots (4-6).

You can try taking it to your local library-they probably have wi-fi there (that's how I used my DSFat for Mario Kart DS).

i haven't gotten my DSi yet, but it sounds really cool. and most of the people that traded in there DS (bashi) has a second one. hopefully these aren't like the lites, where they broke really easily.

I'm just going to wait a bit... then buy a DS Lite when the price goes down. I don't see what the big deal about the DSi is. If I want to take pictures, I'll use my digital camera. If I want to listen to music, I'll use my MP3 player. It's not worth buying in my opinion.
