Durant Mill Deck

Here's the current deck list I have:

Pokemon (7)
1 Rotom (UD)
4 Durant (NV)
2 Cobalion (NV)

Trainer (39)
1 Alph Lithograph
3 PONT
1 Super Rod
3 Revive
4 Pokemon Catcher
4 Pokemon Collector
3 N
4 Eviolite
3 Black Belt
3 Twins
1 Flower Shop Lady
3 Crushing Hammer
3 Junk Arm
1 Lost Remover
2 Switch

Energy (14)
4 Metal Energy (Special)
1 Rainbow Energy
3 Rescue Energy
6 Metal Energy

Basically get out four Durant and keep devouring to mill them out. Pretty easy setup with collector. Cobalion for taking out big threats. Rotom for getting prized Durant. N, Black Belt, and Twins work well since I almost always have more prizes left. Any advice would help!

I would loose the Alph Litograph and the Rainbow energy. I understand it might be nice to attack with Rotom, but You are better off not damaging your Durants. run four more basic metals instead. I also dont think that 2 Rotom is neccessary I would drop one for an extra Cobalion. I would replace the Alphs with Junk Arms. I think you need more draw power then just 4 N, I find that Bianka works well in my deck as you will be playing a lot of trainers each turn so its easy to draw a lot of cards with her. Oh and while twins is fantastic it is horrble to start with. (I lost my Game 3 T4 sudden death match becuase I started with one and nothing else.) So you can drop one and add annopther draw supporter, or maybe a Black Belt. I run one Black belt and it has won me 4 games this year. Good luck with your deck as I wish all fellow durant players the best.

The only problem with losing the Alph Lithograph is finding out where my prized Durant are if I have any. I forgot about the damage on rainbows though. Definitely going to drop them.

I find that I have a prized durrant about once in every 4 games. I cant see running a card that is only useful in 25% of my games. Also you can usually find the durant fairly quickly blind by switching out prizes cards once each turn. You really only need 3 ants to succesfuly mill someone out, that has been proven in my testing. Its great when you can get all 4 into play at once but you dont need it for the deckout. Your opponet will play thier Junipers and Sages they just cant help themselves.

Oh one thing I forgott drop a Reive for a Super Rod, it makes the late game Collectors you will draw not useless.

Now that you've said that, I didn't even think that the odds are 1 in 15 I'd have a prized Durant. Put in the Pokegear 3.0 for Alph.

As far as more draw support goes though, I'm not sure whether Cheer or Bianca is better here. Made all the other changes. Cut one twins and two seekers to add one Bianca and two Cheers.

This is just my preference but PONT is my preferred drawpower support in this kind of deck. I would take out the Cheerleader's and Bianca for three. I have tried Cheren and Sage's before and I still prefer the optimum consistency that PONT gives. I would also consider taking out one or two Energy for Switch. Recently with my Cobalion build, it has helped in certain spots where I can conserve Energy and Junk Arm it back late game if necessary.

This actually brings me to another question I had. How many Energy is everyone else running? I don't tend to need much at all due to the low cost of Durant and Cobalion's abilities. As far as running PONT instead of Cheerleader's, I like that it gives the opponent the option to further mill themselves. When we're talking two to four cards a turn with devour every little bit helps. I'd consider running PONT instead of Bianca though. I'm going to test both and see which works better. The switch may or may not be needed. I may cut a few energies for 2 junk arm and 2 switch and see how that works for me.

This deck in a weird way reminds me of Uxie Donk. It also ran into the problem of energy on occasion, with my list I run 10 energy. 6 Basic Metal and 4 Special Metal. I also think Rotom and Alph is needed. You have so much room in this deck it seems silly to not run it. Cover all your basis, leave no room for failure. I also like Crushing Hammer, it is flippy yes but the ability to slow down your opponent while milling through them can help dramatically.
Junk Arm???

At this point though I don't know what I'd cut for the Crushing Hammers and Alph Lith. Also, as stated before, Alph Lith is only helpful about 25% of the time. I could see cutting back energies again but I'd really like to keep in the rescue energies, which are unfortunately colorless. Junk arm would be nice to run. The more I think about getting back lost catchers and eviolites the more I like it. Or I guess pokegear 3.0 if I wanted.

No dont run crushing hammer, its flippy, you are much better of just cathering up stuff that cant hurt you and cant retreat easily. Usually ther 3rd time you catcher something like that up you will win the game as they will bur though thier switches and junk arms, and may play Sages and Juniper just to get access to them, wich helps you a lot. Alph is a waste of space there are cards that will help you every game not just the rare ones when you have an ant prized. IF you do have an ant prized, You do have a 33% chance of getting it out the first turn after you use Rotom, (Figure you have a collecot or Dual ball handy) and besides you only need 3 ants in play to effectivly mill someone out. I have tested that out in practice and it is true. And I have proved it in tournament games. I have milled 4 games where I never had 4 ants in play at once. Now I am not saying not to put all 4 into play if you have the opportunity to, just dont panic about it if you dont have them all available. Now two ants wont work, but with two ants prized, it should not be to hard to find one quickly with Rotom.

Everyone always says "I've tested this so I know." Alph makes the difference between making top cut, and getting 9th. This deck needs to Mill T-1 to win. I do not understand why people run so many basic pokemon. Id run a max of 6-7 basic, a MAX.

Alph does not, I have never run it in my deck and I had no problem top cutting without it, nor going 2-0 in my T8. I did split the T4 games 1-1 (only becuase I ran out of energy in game 1 when my opponent was down to 7 cards left and had two prizes left to take,) I lost out on sudden death game 3 match.

I mean you can run it if you want, but wouldnt an extra catcher or junk arm help you out a lot more often. I have played in 7 City Championships this year and I have only had multiple Durrants prized twice. And I won one of the games so really I do not see Alph as being all that useful. Even if you do have ultiple prized durants, there is no guarentee that you will find your Alph anytime soon. And getting one with a Twins is such a waste of playing the twins card. In 37 games with Durrant in tournament play there has never been a time where I wished I had a Alph Litograph in my hand.

I see your point if for you there is no need. In my lists though I have plenty of room, in fact I was searching for fill in cards. Due note I go aggro with Durant's.

Well yes if you are running Turbo durrant then yes I can see why you might want to run Alph, but still I think an extra junk arm or Catcher might help you more often. Or maybe annother draw supporter. How often has Alph made a differance for you in games?

Alph has made a big difference in many of my games. Not everyone is as lucky as you with getting 1/2/3 durants prized.

Updated the list. Cut the Spiritomb, Cheer, and Bianca for Junk Arms and PONT. Also decreased the energy count by two. Put in one Alph Lithograph. I shouldn't have a problem getting it. Twins will help with that. If it gets prized Jesus didn't want me to win that match up anyways.
