Dusknior SF Potential?

^ Dialga G is the best partner for Dusknoir! Using Deafen Lock early allows to slow things while you setup and then you can drop a Bronzong G and get that all important 3rd nrg attached to Noir. Also, you can definitely Spread better and get Second Strike going once Noir X is a Stadium was mentioned. Running an SP engine with Dusknoir Draw is amazing as well as you can discard Techs you won't need.

GL!

Plume is a great partner for it. In my opinion that is your only chance of beating SP. Dialga G just sounds clunky and bad. Metal and Psychic energy? Not to mention that the 2 energy retreat cost means it gets stuck active against trainer lock for at least a turn or 2. Enough time for a plume and gengar to be up. Gengar is faster than Dusknoir I'm sure. Besides you will probably only get one damage even off against Gengar because it only needs 2 shadow rooms to knock you out while the limit you will get on you without being knocked out by gengar is 100 or 120 with the X because if you used another usage of the drawing power then you would be knocked out. So you are likely not getting a knock out on anything very important while shadow room destroys you completely getting by everything you try to build.

It si not clucky, it turns off Spirtomb and Vilepulem ,that is why it beats Vilegar, you have trainers to set your deck up and they do not. SP matchup is difficult, but T1, T2 defans really help give you the time to get you dusknoirs set up. I have never had an energy problems with this deck, My current build runs 13 energy - 5 metal (4 special one basic) 4 psychic and 4 rainbow. And with Cyrus inintiative you allways have the energy you need when you need it.

Oh, I thought it sounded like you didn't play dialga X. Besides, vilegar doesn't need trainers. It plays enough supporters that it can easily get set up. Still seems like vilegar autowins it which is why no one plays it.

And after you get turned into Dusknoir X stadium Defen locks are the only way t oget consitant damage with it. Only way around the Defan Stadium lock is Flygon or Steelix, two cards that are not played all that much right now, If you are tired of the constant SP mirror matches, this is a good deck to play. Yes Dusknoir SF cant hit hard unliess it is damage evening, but I also run a Promo one it hits for 9 for three with an expert belt and it snippes the bench when it is damaged. And its powers is perfect for thoes times when then Poketurn the X. On your turn a timely heads flip can make them but it on the bottom of thier deck. Forcing them to waste resources to fetch a card that they alread had in hand.

Dialgs G can hit hard when you need to. Once in regionals I hit 4 heads on a Remove lost on a Regiggias X.. he scooped, Of course this was lucky and not typical. but Dialg X is a real good card and a fantastic partner for Dusknoir.

Vilgar can get set up, but once they losse the first couple ghosts it has not way to come back, And if you take away thier ability to use fainting spell, the deck really shuts down.

It REALLY depends on your build.

You'll need a way to keep Gdos and Luxchomp at bay long enough to WIN the PRIZE COUNT WAR.

Sure, you may get a lock going somewhere in that 30 mins, but what's the prize count when time is called?
(and how much of your bench is snipable?)

THis is valid, it was easier in 40 min games to get mor KO;s wiith Dusknoir X stadium (and I really miss Cresselia X in this deck.) but you can still get some good free prizes on the bench with this effect.

I think it's a matter of preference, and also what are you trying to accomplish with your build. I've built both lists and playtested extensively with them ( along with 2 other potential partner options for Noir ) , and liked the high-disruption version much better , which is the Plume based one. DGX one is fine if that fits your play stile as it seems to be the case with JandPDS . Just with disruption, you have a very good chance against many top tier decks in my opinion.

As for the Gengar matchup, Night Spin is the way to go. Gengars can't shadow room you after a Night Spin unless they put 3 energies on. If / when they do, They should have 50-100 damage and ready for next-turn damage even. I'm not suggesting it's an easy matchup, but it's definitely winnable. Against SP, disruption and trainer lock ( all game , not only deafen-based ) is your best friend. Gyarados is the easiest of the trifecta, as Night Spin shuts it down.

If you like Dusknoir, Plume gave him a second air big time. I was close to win a CC with it , but had a blast playing it regardless.

Don't forget that Dusknoir/Vileplume can easily tech in Mewtwo Lv X to get some auto-wins too! The deck's actually quite good.
