hello,

i live in europe and play an Electivire Deck with Flygon d, and Magneton too.

This is my Deck atm, i havent 4 castys, but i would play 4, if i had.

3-3-3 electivire(DF Elekid atm,DF electabuzz)
2-1-2 Flygon d (i want to play 3-2-3, Trapinch hp)
2-2 magneton PK
2 castforms for start(4 if i get 4 castforms)

I think 2 magnetons are very important, because it can be a second hitter in mid and late game.
Energy:
10 {L}
4 DRE
2 d rainbow

with electivires power you can move the d rainbow to electivire and you only need 3 {l} energies.

The trainers are similiar.

got them in. They also help with Ray ex d and they can be colorless. Flygon d also uses them in case of a mirror or mario match.

If you're playing Pikachu/Raichu, you HAVE to get them active immediately. You need the better Acceleration as soon as possible to take the match before it lands into late game.

...And why would you even play Castform in the Raichu version? It doesn't really do much of anything since you aren't running any deltas besides Electabuzz d (and maybe Ray EX d if you tech it in). Providing two energy of any color is better left to DREs, which actually speed up the deck, or scramble. Seriously.

EDIT: At least for Raichu version, I've become quite fond of Pichu-> Pikachu (MT) for Pikachu's body. Makes the little guy able to function at all times of the game, saves me a few slots from the no need for Magnetons (and doesn't require a card to be discarded when I use the power), plus I run Dual Balls, so I can easily get out Electabuzz d and Pikachu MT.

The main problem with Casty is that the deck is just too darn tight right now. With the Holon Trainer Engine, you could get away with only playing 2 Draw and 3 Evolution searchers. Without HTE, you are kinda stuck with a Trainer Engine that's simply too expansive, especially for a big setup deck like this one. Also, there is really no way to get rid of 4 Lightning Energy out of the list for the Castform. You need to have at least 6-8 Lightnings for Magneton to recycle effeciently.

Even looking at the front page article, I can't see the Electragon deck being anywhere near as consistent as Electranite, or even decks like Mario and Kingdra. I can't see any way around the fact that the deck requires 3 seperate evolution lines (one of them essentially a Stage 2 line that can't use Candy) and there's very little room for much else in the deck.

I can see the upside to Castform. I just can't see how to squeeze it into this deck. The given lists are simply too tight...

That the main problem with electivire. Mabey playing the raichu version could have more space but won't be as effictive...at least until now

I've been testing the Raichu version of this and have been using Scramble as my colorless energy of choice for Electavire. Ray Ex d is a no-brainer tech as you can fully power him up with your first Raichu attack (assuming your oppoenet KO's the Raichu). I'm also using 1 PK Raichu at the moment for a quick 100 damage spike with a Scramble. I'm not sold on Pichu just yet, but being able to grab Lighting out of your discard without adding another line seems like the way to go. 2 Pichu and a 1-1 Magneton (PK) might be a good middleground.

Doesn't Scott help you out somewhat with that? It does take a turn longer, but it's reliable...

Not really. Transceiver could get stuff out of the discard, meaning that you don't need to run as many Trainers. I was running Electranite overloaded with 2 Adv, 1 Researcher, and 4 Celio. I know of lists that cut Researcher entirely. Without discard manipulation, you can't really underload like you could in the last format.

This is a great discussion and interesting deck. Why not 4 Bebe's? Instead of 2 Celio's and 2 Bebe's? Cant Bebe's get everything you need a basic?, an evolution?, Flygon-ex d, Ray ex d, and/or Electrivire X?

Bebe's costs you a card, and its only use is really to get the Pokemon-ex out of the deck. It's better than Elm b/c it can get any Pokemon in a pinch. Celio doesn't cost a card, and the only 2 Pokemon it can't get are Ray and FlyX.
