Electro flip

As some of you regular posters will remember, I recently put up a message requesting information on the Electro-flip ( an electronic device for determining heads/tails ) and I'm still desperately trying to find one (preferably two! ) I would really appreciate it if any one has any information for me. A link to the manufacturers website ( if they now have one ) would be ideal! Or, of course, if any one has one for trade! Thanks very much.

What do you plan on doing with it? Considering it can most likely be re-written (the code I mean) you could theoretically cheat...

The electro-flip, as far as I'm aware, is still legal. Nintendo havnt made any ruling about it and it was certainly legal in WOTC days. I bought one at Worlds in Seattle in 2002 but it has since perished and I would love dearly to replace it!

They were allowed at Worlds 2004, but I didn't see anyone using one. PUI is not sure of their future in the OP environment, but with so few around, I don't see it being a big deal, no matter which way the decision goes.

Lex Luthor, thanks very much for the offer! Sadly I dont have a Blastex for trade I'm afraid! Anyone else?

There's a lovely Trading Forum for that. Let's keep this topic to the usage of Electroflips.

Why do you care so much about an electronic flipping device. If you're not cheating, it's supposedly the same chance as flipping a coin or rolling a die, right? =/

Its just plain cooler. ;)

First you'd have to take it apart, "change the code", and then put it back together without leaving any traces of tampering. Something that could not be done, which is why the DCI allowed them to be used.

Regardless of the randomizing device you use (coin, dice, electroflip), your opponent has the full right to use it. So even if you try to cheat the system, the opponent will also have a fair shot too.

I've never liked that argument. After all, if your opponent has a rigged randomizer, he's going to have a deck built to completely abuse it. Yours won't be. Therefore, even if you are both allowed to use the same randomizer, that doesn't make it even out.

I've only ever seen one of these, but why couldn't it be altered without leaving any traces? Seems like it would be easy to alter the device to come up heads or tails given the amount of pressure and ammount of time that the button was pressed.

Wow!! All I want is an electro-flip! Didnt realise it would cause such a flap!! I want one purely as a reminder of Worlds 2002 and also because it is a reminder of something more personal in my life that was going on at the time! If anyone can help then great! Thanks.
