I hope it's HL-on... because I really want Walrein to stay, as well as other great pokemon like Lanturn, Gorebyss, Jirachi, and Metagross.

HL also had very balanced EX's that I like a lot (registeel, ninetales, wigglytuff, metagross)..

And good trainers (Steven's Advice, Magnetic Storm, Ancient Tomb, Island Cave).

Don't forget Desert Ruins!

Even though FRLG is sorta like a "base set", I still feel the format will be HL-on. Just look at the reverse-holofoil patern. HL was the first set to have "alternate holofoils" instead of reverse holofoils, so I feel that HL will be the starting point of the next Modified. Not to mention the number of popular trainers and cards in the set.

good points DarkLordSigma , what ever they do, I think the new modified format will shake up everything.

Man, I'm screwed... I use the Flygon-Magneton deck. And sounds like that's surely rotated out. :( to think i just traded a Deoxys ex for another Amphy ex!! And there goes the hopes of my RAMBO coming true. Sigh...

Everyone will start playing differently. Guess I got to get me some Plusle once the rotation happens, leaving us without 'Sparce. If HL stays, Rock-Lock will dominate still.

While your point with the RH's is true, I think they were trying some new stuff out to see how players liked it. TRR and Deoxys had a similar RH background. They wanted to know what players think. Personally, I wish they would go back to the RS ones and leave it like that so they stay mint.

well personally i think they are gonna go with TM/TA up,because last time they dropped three sets.so i think this time they will do the same.and another thing to think about,HL has not even been out a year.after worlds it will be but i think it will be NEXT rotation where they drop HL and TM/TA and FR /LG

they dropped 3 sets which were HUGE sets and in japan were actually 5 sets not 3, so I'm guessing it'll be FRLG-on, no need to worry about this tho until OCT. 1st

They aren't going to release 4 sets per year but only cut 3.

Each e-set had about 150 cards, so 450 cards between them (very rough estimate).

Each EX-set has about 100 cards. 4 EX sets would be about 400, 5 would be about 500. Either way it can't QUITE match up with cutting the e-sets... so really, HL-on vs. RG-on is a matter of how PUI/POP feels the balance would shift best.

i hope its fr/lg so we can change the metagame and get that rediculas amphy/ttar deck out of the format.

Oh, so you want stage 2 pokemon to be practically unplayable?
Unplayable? Where's this coming from?

We still have cards that get out stage 2 Pokemon. Celio, Draw Trainers(do you have to have a list?), Pidgeot(Yeah, I know it is a Stage two as well), and other ones I'm missing. And if we get Prof. Elm back, if my knowledge is right, that will help too. If Rare Candy comes back, it will be speed still. This way, without Rare Candy, we may have decks that don't neccesarily are up and running by T2 or T3.

Stage 2's are too slow compared to synergetic stage 1's.

You cannot deny that.

If they were, then why did entei/cargo crush all?

without Rare Candy, the game will change dramadicly. Pidgeot will be seen less, and then (just a theory) Because Margcargo is almost like a Pideot, Ludi Cargo will become bigger. Rare Candy allows more then one deck be big. Without it the game will go back to one deck rules us all.
