I made this deck for boyfriend to try out at our cities yesterday and he made 12th without any catchers, so I thought I'd share the list with you guys to get some input on how to make it better/what I should take out for the 2-3 catchers in the future

Piplup x3 -> x4
Prinplup x1
Empoleon x3 -> x4
Duskull x3 -> x2
Dusclops x1
Dusknoir x3 -> x2
Mewtwo EX x1 -> x2

N x3 -> x4
Professor Juniper x3 -> x1
Skyla x3 -> x2
Cheren x2 -> x4

Rare Candy x4
Switch x4
Pokemon Communication x3
Level Ball x2
Rocky Helmet x2 -> x3
Max Potion x3
Energy Search x2 -> x1
Super Rod x2
Computer Search x1
Energy Switch x1
Tool Scrapper x1

Water Energy x7 -> x6
Double Colorless Energy x1 -> 2

The strategy of this deck is to bring out as many empoleon and dusknoir as you can and as fast as possible (hopefully by atleast T2)
you take easy hits with empoleon and heal/switch if it gets knocked out, usually you'll have atleast a 2nd one on your bench to bring up after
once you've hit their pokemon you just move the damage to knock out whichever you want gone/whichever you'll be hitting next to get it out
mewtwo is incase of taking care of keldeo/darkrai mostly

I'm thinking about either adding more rocky helmets or energy switchs, but it's hard to figure out what to take out haha

Empoleon is your primary, Dusknoir is your secondary, your lines should reflect this.

This is one of few decks that does not need Catcher to function, but if you can get them, you still should. 3-4 are always nice to have.

Cheren is a superior Empoleon supporter in my experience.

I don't think you need 4 DCE when you only run one card that uses it. If you add a second Mewtwo, the 4 DCE is a little better.

Lastly, I would max N and Cheren if you can. I don't think you need Energy Search with 7 Water.

I'll have to get another Empoleon then, but that won't be a big issue haha

yeah, I've tested against it with Hydreigon and the Aspertia/Tornadus EX/Bouffalent/Eels and it almost beat it or did beat them the majority of the time

catchers still seem like a good choice, though I don't know if taking out things for 3 would be worth it, maybe only running two would be good? I dunno

I don't run 4 DCE haha I only run 1 currently but mewtwo is used a lot late-game and my boyfriend was surprised I only put 1 in so I was wondering if I should possibly put a second, but I'll just test it out and see

surprisingly he's used the energy search before, I usually just put 1 in every deck because of skyla now so that you can use her to get an energy if you literally have no supporters/no empoleon out to draw any
it's more of a just-incase thing

and yeah, I think I will max N and cheren, juniper seems to bring this down more than anything
