I dont know I have been playing empoleon for a bit and I have won agenst a few plox decks....though I do think it depends on how good both palyer are. A good empoleon player/deck will probly beat a ok plox player/deck. Though if both players are good and both have good decks it will be a very though matchup for both decks.

He is clearly picking on DarthPika, but it is true, you could buy a really good decklist for Empoleon. He isn't spamming. Team R would sell you one if you had the money.
I honestly think you can never predict a clear matchup for this. It isn't possible. This is one of those threads where people who use PLox will say "YEAH MAN PLOX IS BEST" and people who use Empoleon will say "EMPOLEON PWNS PLOX." It's a pretty biased opinion. You can tech against either, but that tech will never work 100%. There will always be techs ready against your tech, so a tech is never sure-fired. PLox will have the versatility that is PLox, and Empoleon will have the versatility that is Empoleon.
Then again, PLox can't beat a good Empoleon. What do you define as "good?" That is where the answer lies (PREOW WISDOM BEAMS!!!!!!!).

Empoleon and PLOX both have advantages over each other. The matchup could go either way. Empoleon isnt that consistant half the time and PLOX is yet isnt great mid game/late game since people burn their resources with Gallade.
It depends on the build and the player.

Woah am I misreading this? Empoleon is definately a FAVORITE over gg, not a dog.
Correct Strategy is to get 30 on the ralts/kirlia/gallades so that you can ohko them with Surf Together. Often times they will be able to knock out 2 Empoleons without you having a response, but #3 comes in when all their prizes are flipped, lay a WP, and theyre done! Without sonic blade/psycut(all prizes flipped from earlier empoleons), empoleon #3 is impossible to deal with.

Woah woah there Chuck. Maybe those ridiculous tactics work in your part of the woods, but that crazy play doesn't work everywhere.

ok..... Everyone is really changing there opinion. Think about it. it takes gallade 4 prizes to kill one empoleon.
and in empoleons defence a fast set up could win against even a very good PLOX/G&G list. kill out the ralts, duskull, baltoy ect..... quick 30s could do wonders.
in my opinion though empoleon should beat G&G/PLOX
and also if you play empoleon play a sizor or 2 it can do wonders trust me.

i beat the 7th in OH, and i played emp, he played PLOX. I beat him, but i really think that for NATS i play empo:
WITH CRAWDAUNT EX. This thing is dusknoir with water energy! It is like maggy's flame blast. You see, say the opponent has 4 benched. Ralts, furret, dusknoir, and gallade. You can't do a lot of damage without benched, so you play crawdaunt onto the field and BOOM, bye bye dusknoir, hitting it with its own medicine! I think NATS with empo will work if you have crawdaunt (PLOX), and dugtrio CG to kill all other empo decks!

Heck, you could just spread and drop down Omastar PK and see them all die if you were really bored.

I can't even believe that people think that PLOX is still the BDIF! It was good for CC's, SPT's, Regi's, and some BR's (with the right techs). Have any of you empo haters heard of Bronzong or any other damage spreaders (Absol ex and Zapdos)??? I am a PLOZ and empozong player but, my empozong list slaughters almost any other deck (4-0 in tournies). You just use Dual Splash to death and win. I don't even have a problem with PLOX. Unless PLOX can tech in Electivire DP and power it up every turn, empoleon will win. The matchup is more like 65-35 in empoleons favor and 60-40 to 55-45 in empoleons favor for a genous PLOX player. I still beat empoleon when I play PLOX but, I know what to do but, I find empoleon to be better.

Wow this is so accurate its kinda scary.Emp has 2 much HP and spreads to efficently to just to be ignored. Only thing I've seen wrong with some emps is inconsistant list building.

Why would you waste 4 prizes to kill it?
A smart player would KO it in 2 turns instead, as Empoleon can't 1-hit Gallade.
As for all of you who keep saying "I HAVEN'T LOST TO PLOX ONCE WITH MY EMPO DECK," I can say I have never lost to Empo once with my PLox deck.
It absolutely depends on the build and player.
