This is just to confirm:

Q. Can i still use my holo energies produced by WoTC to play in the current MF format? I thought that I could use them, but then i heard the rumor that Nintendo changed this, and you cant use any previous printings of cards (such as Base Set Switch or in this case, energy cards) for the current MF format. Can someone confirm this?

PUI has stated that the game is compatible with previously released cards.
Note that their floor rules reference US released cards, not PUI released cards.

Note page 6 which talks about cards in general and page 8 which regarding Modified mentions old energy cards and old cards that have been reprinted in legal sets.
