Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Erm....

Not sure as to what more can be done to get people here- not many contribute like back in the day................

i check every 6-8 months or so

not really sure what i'm looking for, just stunned that it's so empty, the game's still going strong no?

a little depressing

People are spending most of their time on smart phones now and this sites interface with smart phones is not so good.

Also, I think there's been a bit of a natural fragmentation of the player base's social activity as more of them have grown up and become able to start their own outlets.

Part of it too, has to do with not being able to keep up with the times.
This site was great, but lost a lot of core members back when they changed the interface.
I find the white hurts my eyes and miss the light blue background.

Another thing that a lot of members expressed was the fact that the admin team here was heavy handed, which in turn made members start their own forums, start facebook pages etc, to get away from some of the rules.

Also that being said, why go to a site to log in, when I'm already on facebook. Like Pop said, people are using their phones more than ever... We need to adapt to that.

Very true, but I don't like facebook having a final choice in what happen on a group. The Pokemon Go USA group was in the 100,000's till one person got mad over something, threw a fit to FB over it and they shut it down. I think this site could be revived with a new layout and maybe a bit of updating.

I think (as I see it) that most of the admins have left, and, what ones are still around work with what is still here to the best of what we do have to work with-

I still come back every once in a while to see if anyone else has come back. Very depressing. I loved this site so much growing up and would love to see it revitalized. I honestly think a large boost to this forum to get it back up and running would be to update the layout to be mobile friendly and cross-implement social media such as Facebook and Twitter. Also, a lot of the elements such as regular news updates, player-written articles, the PokeGym Podcast, and forum Werewolf kept a lot of people here. I know that once Werewolf was banned, the Podcast ended and the articles started to dry up, a lot of people left.

I personally am not of the opinion that forums are dead because of social media. Look at places like PokeBeach and SixPrizes which are still alive and well. This place needs a major overhaul, changing this for the new in some ways and converting back to the old in others, if there's ever a hope of activity returning. :(

There is an FB page, and, there are links posted from here to there. I try to keep up on that. Werewolf returning: I wouldn't mind that, I would even mod it and keep that portion separate from the main traffic and sub-section it. I am up for any sort of changes, as long as there is an even ground between the community and us mods/owners.
Just finding the best middle ground all around has been tough, and, in time hopefully that middle ground can be reached and the beneficial for everyone. I simply do the best I can with what I have to work with.

Articles being written? That would be a nice return.

Revitalizing this site will take some work. I don't mind doing what I can in helping to achieve that goal. For now, though, this site is referred to as a "rule book" site and nothing more. Just basing that remark on seeing other sites/communities that this site only really offers rule questions and nothing more.

In a way- as it stands with as much dead/little activity- this is just a resource and event-posting and rule book site.

:(

I just joined PokeGym, and I'm sad to see that is isn't very active. ): I actually found this website on a Professor's dice and got really excited. I check online every day, but unfortunately there is not a lot of people participating.

What this site needs is a boost in contributions/submissions from members. I know there is a lot of other sites out there that are just as resourceful and more of a "relaxed" atmosphere then this site is: this site does have the one advantage is the Compendium- thus, the combination of "professional and rulings" appears to be the only thing people see when they come to the site. I agree there needs to be something that is more appealing here in order to get more members-

It takes more then just the mod's doing what we can to keep the site going, we need members who want to boost this site.

Example: Player Daniel from the masters division writes an article for said "fan site"- Daniel is a Pokegym member. Why does Daniel not also include to post his article here as well?

Just an example is all- members can not say this site is "dead" and complain that there is nothing here if they choose not to share when they contribute elsewhere.

If all that is left here is just "answer how does card A work in situation B when card C is also in play?"

No fan fic writers, no "Hey, so I used deck B in Regionals and it worked well against deck c and got 3rd place over all because deck B was not that great of a match-up against deck A"

I know werewolf is not on here currently, but, this site should not rely on other non-Pokemon related games just to get interest and contributions on this site. Yes, it is an added "bonus" on here if it is ever allowed back on this site- but, the main focus is all things Pokemon- werewolf is just one small factor of an offering to one minor thing that can be done on this site that is just that: a small fun little bonus.

I can only contribute so much, my TCG is not very strong and I am after all VGC pro- I do cater to that aspect as much as I can and as time allows. I am only a small percent of what I can offer, it takes more then the few mods left who are active to bring content in.

This is a community, a membership, a group of people with a common interest: with how many members, visitors, and over-all community player base-- I am shocked that no one is wanting to post anything at all.

I feel stuck, in a rut, and, I do not know what else I can do to get this site back up and going- but I sure am willing to continue to contribute as long as the site remains, even if 3 people look at what I post- it still is something :)

I agree with you! I've been trying to mention this site to people that I talk to that are Pokemon fans. I would love to see it up and running! I have found some really useful information from this site.
