:pokeball: ERRATA :pokeball:

Pokemon issued errata on a couple of cards from the most recent expansions.
We should announced that errata separately here in the News section instead of burying it in discussions of ongoing issues, so "mea culpa" for that. Here are those two errata:

http://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-news/errata-in-recent-pokemon-tcg-expansions/

Fighting Stadium (XY — Furious Fists 90/111)
The attacks of each {F} Pokémon in play (both yours and your opponent’s) do 20 more damage to the opponent’s Active Pokémon if it is a Pokémon-EX (before applying Weakness and Resistance).

Effect of the errata: This stadium should only impact the Active Pokémon-EX belonging to the opponent of the attacking Pokémon.

Jamming Net (XY — Phantom Forces 98/119)
The attacks of the Pokémon this card is attached to do 20 less damage to each of the opponent’s Pokémon (before applying Weakness and Resistance). (Don’t apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.)

Effect of the errata: This tool should only impact the Pokémon belonging to the opponent of the attacking Pokémon.

These errata clarify and correct text confusions related to the change in the definition of "Defending Pokémon". The card had used that term incorrectly based on the new meaning.

:pokeball: CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS :pokeball:

There has been confusion in the community lately about whether League Challenges still gave Championship Points to the top finishers. This confusion was due to two documents on the Pokemon.com website. The updated section explaining that League Challenges are made no mention of Championship Points while other tournament series did include Championship Points in the review of prizes offered. Also, the section on Championship Points that did outline what Points were given in various tournament series was dated last year.
So, this combination led many to conclude that this years League Challenges had stopped awarding Points and that the Championship Points section of the website had just not been updated to reflect this yet.
In order to clear this up, PokeGym spoke directly with the OP manager in charge of League Challenges, Dan Brandt, and he has confirmed that League Challenges DO, in fact, still award Championship Points.

To be clear:

Yes, Virginia, League Challenges for the 2014-2015 Tournament season DO award Championship Points.

The Pokemon website should be updated in the near future to reflect this for the current season.

If they are awarding championship points how are we being allowed to run these tournaments as we see fit, example stage 2, only stage 1, etc....it states on the site to check the local tournament info for tournament specifics. It did say everyone will receive 1 play point for participation.

I was looking through the pokemon website and the docs posted and could not find where it was posted that you could run the league challenges anyway you chose. My understanding was they were to be run using the standard format and now the expanded format. Could you point out where the other information might have been posted?

If someone is making up formats, they are doing it wrong.
That is NOT allowed and may cause their events to be invalidated.
Players should not stand for this.

The only choices for League Challenges are Standard or Extended. That's it.
