Krucifer,
if there was something fundamentally wrong with what FS was doing in this thread then I'm certain that one of the many mathematicians/statisticians that lurk here would have commented. [FWIW it isn't mathematically possible to have an 1800 rating after only 5 matches. Picky I know but the essence of the thread is to find out what has actually been achieved and not the most extreme theoretical possibilities]

LionheartEX,
assumming that this is your first tournament then going 4-0 can be expected to give you a rating around 1660 points. Also note that this years rating system was designed using the results from last years. Consequently It is perfectly reasonable to use last years data to establish the early 1700, 1800, and 1900 boundaries. It gets a little bit tougher to use last years data to indicate the yet to be attained 2000 figure this season but given that the K values don't increase significantly at regionals it is still likely to be a good guide.

o_O;; I have no idea what that means. ya know what? im just going to play in premier events and win... that should do it

Lol, I just realized, I don't know if it counts, but last year I started off 12-1, and the 1 game I lost it was because I basically conceded. The person I conceded to had roughly the same rating as me, they gained +17 off the match, so I would gander I woulda have received +15 or so. If indeed I won that game I would have had an 1800 (1804ish) rating in 13 games.

Just for the record. ;x
