Extended format in 1-day regionals?

In some countries regionals are 1-day events because we don't have that many players.

Does this mean we won't use the extended format at all?

Not even in Top 8?

I read the whole thread of extended format that was uploaded to the front page and I couldn't find anything related to this, also I didn't want to post in it because it's more than a month old… and I wasn't sure where could I post this question.

Any official answer? Or is this still under discussion?

I want to know if it's worthwhile to playtest BW-on decks for regionals this year, I know I'll have to for nationals, but that tournament is months and months away…

Ask the tournament organizer of the event. Their email is found on the sanctioning page for the tournament on pokemon.com
 
Well, our regionals are usually on spring, so it hasn't been scheduled yet…

But then, is it possible to change into extended format for a Top 8 even if it is a 1 day event?

Like, is it up to the TO to do that?
