MS does not think ahead.....or at all......
This statement isn't even relevant considering they're moving along with Nintendo and keeping their good system at a decent price that people can afford with good packages. They just lowered their 20GB HD package just to keep sales on par with MGS's release, which IN THE LONG RUN is a great idea because it will bring more people to the system because of its lower price.
Honestly, if you're a FF Fanboy, which is more logical to you if you're buying a system for a game? a 300 dollar system with other GREAT RPG options (Blue Dragon, Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey, Star Ocean IV, Eternal Sonata, and probably more to be released on Arcade) or a 500 dollar glorified blu-ray player with only one other good game (or more for sony fanboys) to your name. Logically, I think you would pick the first one because its cheaper and still a great system nonteheless.
How is this not thinking in the long run? With more really good games on the way, and Nintendo still keeping par with them thanks to both their exceptional handheld market, and great intuitivity, the only logical thing to do is bite the bullet, lower your price, and keep strong sales.
Microsoft IS thinking ahead. Call them names, call them monopolizers, call them what you will, they're still doing better than Sony, whichever way you look at it, and whether you like it or not. Even Nintendo's bar graph proved it. Microsoft is thinking ahead. Because like it or not, they probably know a lot more about business than you would imagine. And FFXIII on the 360 is probably just what they needed for that lagging Japanese market.
