fire/steel deck build (first deck in a while)

I just got back into the game recently after buying the Nightfall theme deck. I was impressed with how well it played for being a theme deck that it made me wanna get back into the game more competitively. Now onto the decklist-

Deck is pretty simple. Burn em down, beat em up. I've got Magby and Heatran to soften em up with burn damage, Magmortar and Metagross for muscle. Heatran lv X for burn tech and Skarmory to help boost energy cards on my stage 2's.

The Triumphant Magby Can't evolve into Magmar,and you have 2 magmar with 3 Magmortar.
I Think you should -1 Magby for a Magmar

Unless it has a poke body or poke power saying that it can evolve into Magmar

Okay so aside from taking out a magby and putting in a magmar, any other advice for this deck? I'm really trying to get good synergy with the burn here, and I'm hopping by the time burn really hurts my opponent I can take out their poke'mon with 50-60 damage per hit. I was gonna use the magmortar that damages benched poke'mon but I guess it's not legal anymore?

EDIT- when you retreat a poke'mon to a bench with the burn condition, do they stay burned or does that fall off?

Burn Disappears when you retreat. In fact all special conditions do.

For a fire metal deck like yours, I want to suggest putting in a Dialga with Pokepower: Reverse Time. It is perfect with Magmortars first attack.

Reverse Time - Once during your turn, when you put Dialga from your hand onto your Bench, you may search your discard pile for up to 3 in any combination of Pokemon (excluding Pokemon LV.X) and basic Energy cards. Show them to your opponent and put them on top of your deck in any order. (Poke-POWER)

[2R] Hard Crush (50x) Discard the top 3 cards from your deck. This attack does 50 damage times the number of Energy cards you discarded.
