First Pics of 'Pokemon as Tools'

If you look closely to the names of each, there is a small line of text near the bottom right of their name. The new equivalent to Holons?

The text after the pokemon's name is just the level of the pokemon - DP cards start using all of the identifiers we had from base, jungle etc.

The scans are (predictably) of too low quality to be able to read the card text...

My bet is that when the pokemon is played as a basic that it has a special marker on it. The image next to the deranged yellow rat is an oran berry. My bet is that when Pika has 10 or more damage on it between turns, that it recovers by 10 once. Like someone above said, a one-time-use pokepower. If a pichu evolved into pikachu there would be no way that it could pick up an oran berry out of the air, so it just has the berry if played as a basic. If the pika with the berry evolves into Raichu my bet is that it'll still have it.

I don't think is treat that pokemon as tool. Agree with the idea above, it is like, pikachu comes into play with a berry attached on it. After you use the effect of the berry once, it has no more effect after that. It basically has the same idea as pokemon in gb, such as you attach a berry before battle or there is a berry initially attached to a pokemon you catch.

I wonder if you'd be able to attach another tool to it if it already has a berry on it...

rofc the game is getting more complicated.Pokemon as tools doesnt make sense. Then there were pokemons from Holon can be attached as energy.IMO the game is getting more messy.Still prefer old school. If the goes on I think im gonna quit =\

Has anyone in this thread ever played the video games? All they're doing right now in the TCG is to make it closer to the video game. =\ For Pokémon, sometimes they have a Tool attached to them already when you catch them in the wild. For others, you as a trainer have to attach one to them. It just seems like the TCG is going to be like that now too.

I can't believe how negative everyone has gotten to changes. Even the slightest changes makes people say they're gonna quit. What are you all,%2

No, they're former MTG players. Some of the most fickle players I've ever seen, really. One "bad" set, and half of my area "quits", only to come back when the next set is deemed "good".

I think people cannot see the sense in having Pokémon cards as tools... which I kinda agree with, but really REALLY don't think what the cards are. As has been said many times above, they're most likely one-use powers

Yeah, I'm with Jakestlm on this one, it is a normal pokemon with a tool stuck on it. Looks like an Oran berry or somethin' ....
