The new fisherman from HGSS does not have the reminder text (as compared to the one from skyridge) that you can still get 3 or less basic energy cards. I'm just wondering whether fisherman has an effect if you don't have 4 basic energy cards in your discard pile.

If you have 4, you have to get 4. If you have less, you get as many as you can.
