I'm getting pretty annoyed by this.
Silly me, when I'm losing a game, I let it play out or concede to give the opponent the win they earned.
But when I'm winning, half (or more!) of the time, the opponent just drops the game so they don't get the loss and I don't get the win.

Because of this, my record is crappy and I'm playing against players that are worse than I would if my record reflected my proper win rate.

Now, supposedly Pokemon has a fix on the way, that if someone drops and doesn't come back within a certain time, the opponent will get the win.
They need to do this soon, and certainly before the beta is over!
I'm just getting tired of playing 15 minutes into the game and then suddenly everything hangs up because my opponent is a coward with no honor and has fled.

Yeah. Happened to me too. I as sitting at my computer for about 7 mins until I found out they left.
They need a decent fix for this.

I wish I could be surprised about this, but I'm not.

People can be ridiculously lame sometimes.

I dropped a game once ( a friendly and the only game i have played, i left the TCGO alone afterwards) as the game was running incredibly slowly for me, almost completely frozen ( over 1 minute to perform 1 action = 1 click). The whole thing seems to run really slowly for a lot of people, and i expect some of the drops will be because of the inevitable loss, however some will also be out of frustration with the game.

They should implement a penalty for leaving, but also look at the issue with the speed the game runs at.

On a side note, they could also have some way of surrendering once the leaver penalty is implemented.

^Mine is also slow too. The more cards in play (and discard and maybe hand) the slower it is.
It'd be nice if there was someway to fix that because late game it gets VERY slow.

yeah, that's different if it runs slow.

I really should try it sometime if I can be bothered to enter all my codes.

Boy, sure is like.......every online game out there. If I count the number of times folks disconnect on me in all kinds of games just so they dont get the loss and i dont get the win, and get a dollar for each time, I'd be rich.

Same thing happens with the pokemon handheld games. If you just close the DS, it goes into sleep mode, stopping the battle... your opponent automatically 'wins', but its 'connection error' so it doesn't count. I don't think it's possible for nintendo to fix it through updates unless they release a third version.

I see that all the time in Halo or CoD. It's stupid, really. Lose all the XP they get at the end just to keep their win/loss ratio legit.

Unfortunately the Internet seems to bring out the worst in everyone. This is as much true of ragequitters as it is of trolls on The Gym. At least The Gym has a way to ban repeat trolls, though.

The only thing that can be said is that there are people out there who are decent and willing to play through a whole game even if they lose at the end. Hopefully TPCi takes care of the problem soon.

A coward with no honor?

This is a trading card game.

Case in point? It's just a trading card game, so why would someone be scared of having a negative record which counts for basically nothing?

Cheating at an online game instead of something serious just makes them that much more of a coward...

i haven't had much time to play the TCGO myself, but i hear this happening from one of my league leader parents ALL THE TIME :( i hope there's a fix on the way...talk about weak, if one feels the need to cheat when the game is still in beta =/

Yes, it is pathetic. Yes, it should be fixes. But even though I agree with you, is there really a need to complain before it actually gets released? Sure it might be frustrating, but discovering faults like this is all the beta is about. Until the game is finished errors and major faults like this will show up all over the place, so I suggest you just deal with it and report any problem you would have to the developers. Especially major ones like this.

I did report it to the developers.
that was weeks ago.

I'm entitled to post about it.
Have you met the PokeGym?

At you guys can play it. All I can go is the game shop stuff.

I can't look at my collection, build decks, ect.

The stuff just won't load.

Don't really want to start a new thread about the PTCGO, but I've got a quick question.

I redeemed a B/W Booster Code - now what? Where do I find the "packs" or whatever they are?
