Flavor text and such on the Master Kit CD?

I installed the Card Database from the Master Kit CD. There are a bunch of .dat files with names like "CGenFlavorTextIdx" and "CGenPokeHeightIdx," but that information doesn't show up in the program. Is there a way to get that stuff to show up or are those .dat files just meaningless?

I would LOVE to know. I've managed to de-encrypt the images, but not the text...

PS: If you would like to see some of the images, check out my article on the front page! (OK, i'll stop shamelessly plugging my article now )

What I meant was - if you try to open up any of the text *.dat files, they appear to be garbage. If you try to open up the image *.dat files, you can get the images...

To be honest, unless you can read Japanese, how much use is the flavour text to you, anyway?

Well, I think that it's strange that there are .dat files for it, yet it can not be seen in the program. Besides, I'm sure I could find some use for it...

I assume you do have Japanese fonts installed on your computer?? Otherwise, Japanese will show up as garbage.

?????

Happy Mask Man is right. I can open the database and see everything normally. But the database does not include flavour text for some reason - even though there is a file for them.

Are you referring to Pokedex entries of the pokemon?

They are not covered. All you need to do is translating each card yourself :p
