Florida Regionals

The only thing I can say about the FL meta is that it has a high concentration of Lock decks. Otherwise, FL probably has about the same amount of good players as any other place. Ross and Gothitelle topped BR's in my area so I think it is safe to say that they have a pretty good chance at doing well. I do not support the idea that FL has the BEST meta in the country, but, I am sure we have many good players in our very wet state. Moral of the story: FL is NOT the best. In all honesty, I think it is impossible to say that any state's meta is better than any other.

Then again, that's just my opinion lol
 
Your BR record indicates that you are in seniors, therefore, your opinion is invalid. Jk. But seriously.

THE FL metagame is pure lock. If you're not playing Ross or Gothitelle, you're not winning. End of story. Zekrom probably wont even cut with the amount of trainer lock that will be played.

Lol, not Seniors, I'm in Masters. Unless they would allow a 21 year old to be in Seniors XD Anyway, I agree that the FL meta is very highly Lock, but I don't think that it is going to be the only thing winning. I, for one, have lost only twice to Gothitelle and I won consistently against Ross (Not referring to my outdated sig). But whatevs, hope that the Regionals is fun :)

There's a few things I'm desperately in need of for Regionals if anyone would be able to help me out. Mostly commons and uncommons, but there's a few others that I definitely need as well. Not sure what I want to play quite yet. Kind of depends on what's popular within the metagame... Hope I can figure it out soon. Thanks guys! Look forward to seeing you all there!
 
To all those coming to regionals, please bring your exs and stars. I'm only 6 exs and 2 stars away from having them all. I'll be wearing a Trojan hoodie and ill be on staff or just ask for Chris Clark. Thanks in advance!

The ex era is when I last played and quit. So I'll be sure to bring them.
 
Good luck to everyone this weekend...wish I could be there. The Mrs. won't let me drive 7 hours for a pokemon tournament though. :)
 
That was a hoot! Heidi and co. sure know how to make a big tournament like Regionals fun. And the venue was lovely (even if the food prices weren't).

I didn't get to meet too many of the top players since I was playing rogue to work my way back into the meta. Not sure if anyone managed to see what I was playing - But I was the one playing the rogue Tentacruel deck and spent most of my time with my girlfriend who wore the Florida Gators hoodie. I take it I'll be seeing you all again in upcoming tournaments soon.

Huge thanks to Heidi and her staff for a GREAT event, ran smoothly and things were done in timely fashion. Venue was spectacular(like mentioned above even if the prices werent) and the atmosphere was great as usual.

Got to see some lost faces and rack up those noble victory packs with some championship points to the side ;)
