Basically I use Poison and Sleep to my advantage while I get harder hitters into play (namely Weezing, Grovyle, Ninjask, or Swampert). What can be done to make this deck more resilient?

perhaps add muk ex, or muk AQ if you wanna have fun with status effects.

theres a lot of better poison/sleep effect pokemon that you could choose from.
for exmple: arbok, dustox line, seviper MAYBE.. possibilities endless :D

Erm, this deck wouldn't work in a competitive envorinment, but there's nothing wrong with a fun deck. If you want swampert to be your main attacker, add more than one =/ Also, poison isnt that deadly these days, and sleep is a flip. So I think you should stick to this being a fun deck.

Grandma, I see what you mean about it being a fun deck. I could use it in demonstrations to show how Poison works in battle.

I took a look at the cards you recommended, Gardevoir, and I see Seviper and Muk AQ as being pretty fun, but I think I'll stick with the Seviper. I think I can fit 3 of them in place of 1 Treecko, 1 Nincada, and 1 Mudkip.

why don't you try cradily and sceptile ex, they poison and your opponent can't retreat
:grass:

To put it more in-depth, they both require two-step evolutions (of which one is enough, and I already have one going with Swampert) plus I don't want my deck to be too good to use in a newbie-friendly demo.

Here's my fix:

3 Nincada (Poison Breath) (Dragon)
2 Ninjask (Supersonic) (Dragon)
1 Roselia (Speed Growth) (Dragon)
3 Koffing (Tackle) (R&S)
1 Weezing (Confusion Gas) (R&S)
3 Treecko (Poison Breath) (R&S)
2 Grovyle (Poison Breath) (R&S)
3 Mudkip (Pound) (R&S)
2 Marshtomp (Bubble) (R&S)
1 Swampert (Water Arrow) (R&S)
3 Seviper (Sandstorm)

3 Potion
4 Energy Search
2 PokeNav
2 Balloon Berry
2 TV Reporter
1 Professor Birch
1 Low Pressure System

13 Grass
8 Water

After checking out some Dragon scans, I think Crawdaunt would make a better replacement for Swampert... I also took out the Ninjask line to make room for more pokemon and trainers.

2 Seviper (Sandstorm)
2 Roselia (Speed Growth) (Dragon)
4 Koffing (Tackle) (R&S)
3 Weezing (Confusion Gas) (R&S)
4 Treecko (Poison Breath) (R&S)
3 Grovyle (Poison Breath) (R&S)
4 Corphish (Toxic Grip) (Dragon)
3 Crawdaunt (Rend) (Dragon)

3 Potion
3 Energy Search
3 TV Reporter
2 PokeNav
2 Professor Birch
2 Low Pressure System

12 Grass
8 Water
