General Rule of Miscut Cards?

Hey all,

Apparently miscuts increase the value of the card. Is there a general rule of thumb that may provide a good estimate for what miscuts are worth? Also, why are they noticeably more expensive than the standard version? Is it simply because because they are rarer to come by?

Thanks!

The degree of the miscut is what determines the value. Generally, if your card has a part of another card, the value will be significantly more. If the card is miscut but not featuring another card, the value will only rise a few dollars and is generally harder to sell unless the miscut is major.

General rule of miscut cards: Don't buy them. There is a very, VERY small collector base for miscut cards (if you intent to sell), and even those people only prefer the extremely miscut cards. Cards that have a disproportionate border (i.e. yellow is more visible on one side as opposed to the other) are worth less than there properly cut counter-parts.

I personally dislike all the "hype" sellers try and promote via miscut cards. This is not something that is rare, nor is it something that is highly desirable (at least imo). If I want to buy a Charizard card, why would I want part of another card printed on it? Never made much sense to me.

Per your original question, as I stated above only extremely miscut cards will be popular (ones that have part of another card visibly on them), but your standard miscut card is worth the same, or less, as the regular card.
