German Nationals 2009

It's record time again in Germany!

After last years record attendance of 298 players, today even more German players showed up in Cologne:

not 300 players
not 320 players
not 340 players

but 351 players are competing for the title of German National Champion at the moment!
(there is a small chance that numbers go up slightly, if more players show up before the start of round 2 and are added with a first round loss...)

The age group distribution is 83 Juniors, 145 Seniors and 123 Masters!

As this is a 2 day event, we won't know who will win the titles until tomorrow afternoon, but I try to keep you posted.

Is Rising Rivals legal? The online translator is making a mess of amigo's website :( [I think it says RR not legal - thought google's translator says it is???]

Stuning turnout. Bound to push many German players into the ratings invites.

Nationals again was an exciting tournament with surprising top cut results. ^^

Didn't expect to get the trip again with Blaziken in a metagame full of Kingdra and Legos. I think I'll translate my report into English later this week, but I don't know when I have time yet.

For everyone who is interested, here are the full Top 16 Masters results with decks.

1. Sandro A. [Kingdra]

3rd in Seniors was Rudolf H., 4th was an unknown player with Gengar.
Juniors 2nd was Hanna J. and 3rd Gabor v.M., don't know the decks.

Dennis is a bad lucker -.- if he hadn`t topdecked the roseannes , I had won , but who cares
Dennis M. had the the most difficult bracket possible. He defeated Janik, Björn and Rudolf, almost all of the favorites in Seniors except for Marc. If there's a National Champion who really deserved the title, it's him.

Leon A is now a two-times winner?
Yes, and the year before he got 2nd.

I haven`t say that he not deserved the title , I said if he hadn`t topdecked the roseannes I had won , nothing else

A certain someone (he knows who he is) deserves to have a Legos deck stuffed up his nose for his inability to use his brain in top cuts... >_>

GJ to the winners. Sadly my teammate didn't think before he made a stupid misplay. :(

GJ Bjorn! Hope you can make it to worlds! I love when my decks wreak havoc in other countries. Bwahahahaha
