Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

GH4 or RB2?

To your point about writing songs: Yeah well, not many of us can sing either, that may be why they never put it in. Plus the game can't recognize words, so it'd be impossible for it to make a lyrics list so the person can read and sing your custom song. With that in mind I think it's actually a better choice not to have custom vocals.

And if anyone was actually keeping up with Guitar Hero (which most of you don't, I don't see why you're all such no-it-alls) you'd know that they have MAJOR plans for DLC. Their adding it to the WII also.

They have said they are going to have a lot of DLC since they released GH2 for the 360 and have failed. I will give them the benefit of the doubt. However, comparing so far, RB has been better than GH. They have a lot of ground to make up to catch up to the amount of songs RB has. Nobody has even mentioned, besides me, the fact that RB1 songs (all but 3 which makes 55) can be copied over to be played in RB2 for about $5. GH has nothing like that and have not announced they plan to do that from previous versions of GH. That is a MAJOR thing RB has over GH. Just add the 55 songs from RB1 to the 84 on the RB2 disc and already, RB players have 139 songs without even having a single DLC song on it!! I respect people's opinion that they think GH is better to them, but please respect people who think RB is better than GH. I like them both. I like songs from each. I just made a point to say so far, GH has not had even 1/10th the amount of DLC that RB has had and that is because Harmonix has supported the game for expandability, where GH has not. I am not going to express here why the GH makers have not had that much DLC and yes, I do have my opinion on it. I will say it again, those people who like GH better, great. Those who like RB better, great. However, don't say a game is millions better just because you like it better. Give examples like I did to support your opinion. We will see if GH has DLC support better than it has and hopefully it will be cheaper like it is for RB.

To answer a big question for this topic. Both Microsoft and Sony have confirmed that Guitar Hero: World Tour and Rock Band 2 drums and guitars will be cross compatable on their respective systems. There is no word so far about the microphones being cross compatable or if the Wii will have cross compatable instruments. Though I suppose the microphone will be a standard high-quality mic with USB input. Both Microsoft and Sony have also made the disclaimer that each instrument may have unique features that aren't cross compatable.

Personnaly I will be getting both on the Playstation 3. I am waiting for Guitar Hero: World Tour to come out because I want the drum set from that game. First reason is that I perfer the high-hat cymbol setup of it. Secondly, I suppose that the fifth pad on those drums will be one of those unique features that can only be used on the game it is made for. I don't want to be stuck playing Medium on Guitar Hero: World Tour because I don't have a fifth pad on my drum set. It is not confirmed as yet that there will be a problem like that, but that is my guess as to what will happen.

I will also rent the original Rock Band to rip the music from it into Rock Band 2. The service to do so is only $5 and to rent a game for a week is about $7 so it would be worth it.

A friend of mine is renting RB1 and paying the $5 to rip the 55 songs from it also. We are all also getting GHWT band bundle to get the drums. I already have a set of RB1 drums I am selling complete with homemade silencers and extra foot padal, a set of wireless RB2 drums, and the premium ION drums, which I love. I, just like you, did not want to take a chance of missing out on something with the compatibility of the drums. I got the ION ones because I like having the option of having a cymbal crash sound or low tom-tom when hitting green, and the same with the yellow. The game recognizes which you hit and uses the appropriate sound. That does not happen with the regular drum kit, at least until the MadCatz cymbal pack comes out and they keep pushing out the release date on those.

I've noticed that guitar hero is usually harder than rock band. I can breeze through expert on most of the songs for rock band, but guitar hero is always tougher.

I agree. I litteraly beat any rb song on rb1 expert in one try up until about 10 tries from GGAHT. Great songs, but harder. GH has good songs too. Also, I love Satch Boogie :)

RB2 does have more harder songs on it than RB1. Songs like Painkiller, Panic Attack, Battery, and Visions are GH like.

Personally I don't care about the song creator. I am one of those type of people who want instant gratification and don't have the patience to sit there and do a lot of stuff on song creator. I rather buy DLC songs, real master track songs, to play than attempt to make my own.

Did you not see that you can download songs other people have made?

That I already knew. But like I stated in my post, I am more interested in Real aka Master Track songs.

I am a DLC buyer for both games. The thing RB has done, is making all their DLC backwards and forwards compatible. Too bad all of the DLC for GH3 can't be played in GHWT, except for the Metallica Death Magnetic Album pack.

But yeah, I really don't care about the song creator in GHWT, nor do I care about downloading other peoples songs. That doesn't mean that I won't download other people's stuff, it's just not what I am interested in.

Don't get me wrong, I plan on buying GHWT at the Midnight Release, just like I did for the RB2 release.

And as far as new fake plastic instruments go, I plan on purchasing the new GH guitar, and the RB2 drums. I have enough other fake plastic instruments laying around. Eventually though, I plan to get the ION Drum Kit, that is when I have $300 to drop on it.

On your first point, I feel exactly the same way. RB has done a major step forward making all DLC compatible with both RB1 and RB2 and going that 1 step farther and making almost all the songs from RB1 be able to be "ripped" to be played on RB2, so no need to keep the disc of RB1 unless you want to play the 3 songs not able to be ripped bad enough.

Your second point, I bought the ION premium drums and $300 is a steep price, but if you look at how expensive drum sets are, that price is an excellent value and the drums, IMHO, are well worth the $300.

GH4 wayyyyyy bettter than rock band. dont even bother buying rock band 2 because you can just get a much better game for the same price

Another Fanboy statement, without any reasonable explanation. By the way, quit calling it GH4, Activision already said it isn't GH4.

Rock Band 2 is a lot better than RB1, due to the additions of single player band world tour, thus adding in the single player endless setlist. Plus you can do BWT online with other players. Plus there is the tour challenges, and Battle of the Bands. On top of that RB series has weekly DLC, and all DLC is compatible with both RB1 and RB2. Plus RB2 is a blast with a group of friends.

Now, this isn't to persuade anyone into buying RB2 over GHWT. I would love to see everyone get both. You only need one set of fake plastic instruments to play both games. I already got RB2, and am planning to get GHWT.

People need to give RB2 a try before blasting it. People need to give GHWT a try before making Fanboyish statements. Give both games a try, and you may surprise yourself, that you actually like both games.

I loved playing GH3, and I am sure I will love playing GHWT, I also love playing RB2. There is nothing wrong with liking both games.

Fanboyism isn't going to get us anywhere.

Gh4 = Micheal Jackson and willy nelson EWWWW
RB2=Shinedown Avenged Seven fold RHCP slipknot disturbed ETC

RB2 FTW

I couldn't have said it better myself. I have GH1, GH2, GH:RT80s, GH3, GH:Aerosmith, RB1, & RB2 and I already have on order GHWT. I like them all. As I said before, Harmonix listened to its fans about upgrading the instrument controllers and about gameplay. They did a wonderful job. The only thing I think that is going to hurt GHWT is that you cannot play songs from the older GH games on it. I really hope they keep their word and have more DLC for this because the DLC for GH3 and GH2 were really lacking.

People, if you prefer one game over the other, fine, but stop completely bashing the opposing game. It makes you look childish.

ToysRUs had a sale yesterday where I could buy two games and get one free. I bought one I wanted, one my room mate wanted, and another that I will promptly exchange for Rock Band 2 for the PS3 on Sunday when it is released. I love abusing the system. Still waiting for World Tour to come out. I am getting those instruments instead of the Rock Band 2 instruments because I like the high hat setup of the drums.

ok so uh lets see here. i am going to be buying GH:WT and am hoping for the best. i have played rb2 and even though i am a guitar hero fan i must say rb2 has way better songs than guitar hero. and also rick band got that acdc list:( so if guitar hero does that, ill be happy. but anyways i wish that guitar hero tried to get some more, like hard core songs, cuz a lot of the songs are like light rock which is cool but it just isnt what i was expecting. like stated earlier there is no disturbed, avenged sevenfold, and stuff like that, or a lot of it. so to close my overall thoughts, here it is

I have high hopes for GH:WT and hope it has lots of good dlc and it looks like itll be a blast

rb2 is cool, but after playing it, i got kinda bored after a short while which is rare for me. but it happened.

Did anyone think they put together a sad set list so they could sell the heck out of whatever major DLC plans they have? Yeah, that's called POWER.
