GH4 or RB2?

I am gonna have to says it depends on what you want.
Just rock songs?
Then for for GH4.

If you want more than Rock?
Then RB2 will be the best for you.

^Guy aboive me will kill me, but I like RB2 because I have more song choices and more of them are too my liking.

That's fine. I don't care if you like RB more. Songs don't make the better game. When I'm argue over which is better I mean like Game play. The notes on Guitar Hero are friendlier looking to me. I like Guitar Hero's Instruments better than RB's. I don't care about the songs, if you can't give me a good game to play, I don't wanna play it reguardless if you have AC/DC and other good bands and songs on your game.

Now that I have GHWT, and have played it...

Pros:
Star Power can be gained while activated
Tool
Familiar play for the most part, if you play on Guitar, and have played previous GH games.
DLC is now priced to compete with RB's DLC, plus 4 free DLC at Launch.

Cons:
Cannot Start more than one band per gamertag on the 360, don't know about other systems.
Open notes strums on Bass
Vocals aren't as enjoyable as Rock Band's
Music Studio stuff is a waste
Slide Notes
ION Drum kit doesn't work properly with it

So my opinion is this : GH series shouldn't do the full band thing, they should just stick to Guitar only.

I feel Rock Band 2 wins this round.

Actually, I do like the slide notes, especially when using a Rock Band guitar controller with it. All you have to do is hit the fret buttons, no strumming needed and you do NOT have to use the fret buttons close to the controller body either. However, I noticed the issue with using the ION drums also and I am a little more than disappointed. It doesn't recalibrate to 4 streams and when you hit the green cymbal, it registers orange AND green and when you hit yellow cymbal, it registers yellow AND orange. This is an issue since it will cause you to register missed notes when hit. I hope they do a patch for it because my ION drums are the ones I exclusively use at home and my wireless drums I use to travel. It is taking some time to get used to the different setup on the GHWT drum set. I am just not used to the orange being between the blue and green. Has anyone noticed that during drumming, GHWT alternates the "crash" cymbal sound between the yellow and orange notes? Rock Band has the "crash" notes being green only. Seems a little weird while playing and one note has orange as the crash and the next has yellow as the crash. It can throw off any intermediate drummer's rhythm. Also, while using the RB drums, I noticed the velocity notes are turned off. The RB drums are also velocity sensitive, but I guess it cannot recognize that. Lastly, I have had difficulty going into star power with the RB drums. I think it uses the simultaneous hit of yellow-blue on the RB drums because that was the only way I could get it going and I have only been able to do it at the end of a song.

I will say I do like the GHWT drums. The hits feel nice on the pads. They are very well crafted. I may keep all my sets now.

Also, counting down to the release of Rock Band: AC/DC Live. November 2nd exclusively at Walmart. Woohoo!!

Wow, did you really just say that.
Okay when Disney has there version of it with Hannah Montana I expect you to buy it if it a Guitar Hero brand game. RB2 notes show where you can use hammer ons and stuff like that. When its game made on music, ya the songs do make the game better.

I preordered GHWT Full Kit picked it up Monday took it back Tuesday and got RB2 full kit PS3 also bought GHWT just the game the guitar in GHWT wouldn't strum and one of the drum pads were dead great game horrible equipment.

I have heard that they are Recalling the Full Band kits, because of issues like Blizzard said.

Lucky for me, I bought the game only, since I already have enough fake plastic instruments laying around.

And for you ION kit owners, the patch for GHWT is available for it now.

Wow, really, a recall? I guess I got a good kit this time around because I have had zero issues with my drums or guitar from GHWT. I had issues with the RB ones when it came out last year. The guitar stopped down-strumming, the drums red pad stopped working, then the pedal broke.

I noticed the patch went out yesterday and it works perfectly now with the ION Drumrocker.

Today, I got the Madcatz double cymbal expansion pack for the RB2 drum kit and I love them. Shame they didn't have the triple ones or at least another double kit so I could've had 3 cymbals. I am still waiting for the 3rd cymbal for the ION to be released. I also bought a splitter for the phono cord so I can use 2 pedals. This can only be done on the 360 with a regular splitter. The PS3 and Wii versions need to be powerd so you have to buy one online that has button batteries.

My buddy got the kit and took it back the same day cause he hated the drums, so he took it back and got just the game and a set of the RB2 drums and he loves them. He never got a chance to use the guitar, so he is going to try mine and see if my drums work better than his did. The only thing I hate about the GHWT drums is the cymbals are loud. The pads are quieter, but the cymbals are louder. STILL getting used to the orange between blue and green. LOL.

They aren't getting recalled. Look here.

And at Jran: There's a limit to what I'm talking about. Songs do make the better game, sure. But what I'm saying is I rather have a better QUALITY game next to a game I can't stand to play with 300 of my favorite songs. I'm not trying to completely dis RB, but I prefer GH and nothing's going to change that unless RB becomes "better" in my eyes. Power to you and all others who prefer RB. Leave me and GH alone.

Do you think if I said I'd do anything for a new car that I'd jump of a skyscraper? Get real, dude.

The songs may not matter that much but they definitely have an influence on the games purchase for many people if the game is built on songs that you don't like you most likely wont buy it.

But in this case Both RB2 and GHWT have excellent songs and this issue goes down to personal song/artist preference.
