Gliscor LV.42 – Fighting – HP80
Stage 1 – Evolves from Gligar

[.] Burning Poison:
Choose either Poisoned or Burned, and the Defending Pokemon is now affected by that Special Condition. You may return Gliscor and all cards attached to it to your hand.

If the Defending Pokemon is affected by a Special Condition, this attack does an additional 40 damage.

Resistance: Fighting (-20)
Retreat: 1

Gliscor LV.X - Fighting - HP110

[F][C] Night Slash: 60
You may switch Gliscor with one of your Benched Pokemon.

Weakness: Water (x2)
Resistance: Fighting (-20)
Retreat: 0

Buck's Training – Supporter

Draw 2 cards from your deck.
When your Pokemon attacks, if this card is in play next to your Active Pokemon, each of your Active Pokemon's attacks does an additional 10 damage to any Active Pokemon.

You can use a Supporter once during your turn. To use it, play it next to your Active Pokemon and discard it at the end of your turn.

Oh the strategy is not that hard to figure out. Auto-paralyze with Gliscor Lv.X and Articuno, and then Lucario Lv.X is for more wall. I used to have 4x Articuno added in but he was just a serious bad start and filled up the bench to much (and he's a flipper), so hes more of a fun tech here. Lucario rarely uses his other attacks, just Focus Blast which quickly snipes 30 somewhere while there left unable to attack.

This is why I like Gliscor/Lv.X:

1. Resistence to fighting (Groudon/Gallade/Kabutops/Rhyperior Lv.X).
2. Burning Poison is a free, unfailing SSU that also Burns or Poisons.
3. Night Slash can sworm, but have a look at chase; 80 for 2x energy.
4. He's really fast.

The only real problem I had was Warp Point, but hopefully most decks will cut down on them when other good trainers come out in LA.

Thanks for looking! I appreciate any kind of advice, ratings, deck nicknames, anything you wanna say below (just besides that King-Swarm beats this, I know it does:nonono:)

Yup, i dont think 4 super scoop ups are nessesary look, you scoop up the lvl.xs for both right? main reason? so when you do you lose all energy and the cards all go back to your hand but then you dont have a good attacker anymore. Unless you have another one out. 3 riolu.

I'd play 3-3-1 lines of each with 1 or maybe even 2 Azelf (LA) and 4 premier balls. I think that'll be much more consistent and you'll be able to get the stance/paralyze lock more effectively.

Hey thanks for taking the time for some help everyone :thumb:

zthunderz2:

Night Maintence...I could do maybe one (I got Premier Ball) but my pokemon honestly never gets knocked out

Charchar:

Gliscor Lv.X only needs two energy (Lucario sometimes needs only 1), and I mean come'on thats not that much of a loss. Plus whenever my pokemon do get attacked, I like to remove all the damadge off them, with SSU. And all the cards go in my hand, but then I can bench the Riolu/Gligar and then level up my active. Trust me, its a must

Slayer_Chaos:

Yes, thats EXACTLY what I need to do, thanks Slayer_Chaos! I'll edit it right now

And by the way, everyones right about Articuno (MD), Articuno=BOO!!!!

I have a deck like this built for a Seniors player and he's told me its aggro begins early on and doesn't stop coming.

Definitely no to Articuno, if you were using him for fun, thats cool, but don't use him if you're planning on using this deck for anything more than that.

My pokemon line for him looks like this:

3x Gligar
2X Gliscor (Burning Poison version)
2X Glicsor LX

3x Riolu
2x Lucario (LA)
1X Lucario (DP)
1X Lucario LX

2x Baltoy
2x Claydol

1x Minun

Really, its pretty much the same but I excused the Articunos and Chatot and opted for a Minun. People underestimate the little negative guy but he works a lot better than one would imagine, and you're also running a deck with a low HP base which means whether you think it or not, you WILL be giving prizes away once in a while. (BP Gliscor only has 80 HP's! >,<) and that little boost REALLY helps. It helped me a ton in my Banbliss and I think he's my new favorite tech card.

DP Lucario is still good for spread and quick aggression to the active, I would recommend at least running one in this.

I haven't gotten to see the proxied deck in action yet, but he has the deck made and we will be testing it out at league tonight. I'll let you know how it goes.

Also, DO watch out for Wager. I love being able to bring Gliscor home if he's in a bind, but be very careful that your opponent doesn't wager you into next year. You could also experiment with Unown Q if you find it necessary.

I also called the deck "El Bandito", my girlfriend opted for "Face Palm" though. XD El Bandito basically because Gliscor kind of gives off that "I'm a bandit" vibe and Lucario is reminiscent of a Jackal.

Since you're using Lucario... Mainly for the LV.X and to throw damage around, I'd recommend running two of the seemingly more efficient DP Lucario (40+20 for two > 30 for one, IMO), one of the LA Lucario (for more controlled finishing off), and of course one LV.X.

Seems to me like cards will have about 130 HP maximum. We normally throw Gliscor at it (play LV.X this turn), and it's doing Chase for 80, right? Add ten for poison. Say they're stuck there for a turn, and this does another ten for poison. The total is 100 damage.
You now have two options to get the KO. 1) Burning Poison, and hope they flip tails on burn (which I don't like because coin flips are unreliable), or 2) Attack with a real attack.
If you opt for 2), Lucario DP is the best card to use here, as it can damage two targets at once. The extra 20 damage you've now set onto another pokemon will set it up perfectly for a repeat of this system (likely difficult to execute right away, but later game...), where your 100 easy damage plus 20 already spread leaves them with a mere 10 (ensured KO by poison).

Even if you aren't having the perfect set up, Fighting type 40 to the active twice is enough to KO every starter in the game, and most stage 1s. Of course, you'd benefit from having the perfect 20 already set up for the easy 130 damage while you're KOing the active. Lucario LA on the other hand... Can set up only one pokemon for KO at a time and probably won't touch the active if it doesn't need to, while Lucario DP can KO one and set up two others in two Aura Spheres. Seems more advantageous, but that's just me.

For something a bit more out there... I wonder how a Granbull tech does in here? Very light; the only purpose really is for the Kingdra match up (since Kingdra's second attack three hit KOs it w/out Pluspowers, and it stops bench damage from Kingdra) and slowing that down enough to reach KO range with Gliscor. I think you'd need some energy switch if you tried Granbull, but it just might be a useful enough trick (since Lucario LV.X won't stop Kingdra's bench spread). Then again, perhaps having absolute reliability with what you already have is what's needed. I don't know; haven't tried Granbull yet. It just looks like it should be checked out. It could also help against some spread decks, (bringing Empoleon's Dual Splash to 10 damage to two targets :X) but I question how vital that would be.

Personally I would drop some of the the scoop ups, it is a 50/50 chance and even then it's effect in this deck isn't that great, if you've got another gliscor waiting it is indeed. So how about this to speed it even more up?

-1 super scoop up
-1 dusk ball
-1 roseanne's reasearch

and add 3 rare candy, again it might sound wierd but with low hp basics it makes it all faster plus it pulls out the claydol just that much quicker.
