Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Gold and Silver Remake?! EDIT: NOW CONFIRMED.

It's true, obviously there's been a lot of hype about this and here it is people, there indeed is a remake according to Pokebeach and when was the last time they ever lied? Lets hope they don't fix the PC glitch that everybody was aware of.

Allow me to reiterate: IT would be quite easy to fit four regions on a DS cart:
I'm sure that with a somewhat different chip they could fit at least 8 gigs on the cartridge like a SDHC card... But to keep the normal format:

Diamond/Pearl are on a 512-megabit card (64 megabytes). The largest DS game made has been on a 256 megabyte card.

Using the already used technology, you could fit 4 Sinnoh-sized regions (each with their own unique 3d pallete) and probably fully render every pokemon in 3d as well. (Pokemon Stadium 2 was a 64 megabyte cartridge, overestimating and saying that the entirety of that game was just the pokemon, their animations, and he attack animations, we multiply that by 2 (since the number of pokemon has just about doubled since then) for 128 megabytes (twice the size of the D/P games).

The other half would consist of at least two regions.

So you could have one of the following *NOTE THESE ARE HIGHLY EXAGGERATED, YOU CAN FIT MORE ON THE CART*

4 regions using 3d effects similar to sinnoh, while keeping the battles sprite based

2 regions using 3d effects similar to sinnoh, and render EVERY pokemon in 3d, comparable to their appearances in Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2.

Most games don't even come close to what they could max out of. Few games ever reach the potential and use the entirety of memory that is available to them.

I'm technically not excited for the Jhoto Pokemon since i have all of them already but it'll be fun to play through the world once more.

Sweet! When I heard this was confirmed I dug out my Crystal game and GBA and started a new game to warm up for the remakes. I've already done I need to do in Platinum anyway. I really hope they'll allow for Soul Silver and Heart Gold to have compatability with the GBA games like how DPPt do.

Thats Something I doubt will make it over.
I wonder if they will put in DSi exclusive techs.

Uh...

The problem with your reasoning with Pokemon Stadium 2 though is that even though it has all that model data, it lacks towns and areas you travel through. It's a barebones battle simulator without NPC interaction and pre-canned cutscenes that are just dialogue.

That's why all that stuff fit in that much space.

Not gonna happen the way you're describing it. Not even remotely close.

Stadium was a 64 MB cart. Platinum is a 64 MB cart, and approximately half of that is Pokemon data. The largest DS game to date is a 256 MB cart. He's saying that it's possible to put the 3D battling aspects from Stadium 2 in the same game as all the maps and stuff from Platinum and still have plenty of room left over for more maps and stuff.

You know with the whole mini-SD cards going around, I'm pretty sure w/a 8 GB card, they COULD fit in a lot of stuff. But even then, 2GB should be enough.

I can see the 3D battling, I think it is highly unlike anytime soon, but I can see it being possible. I seriously wouldn't expect it.

Why would they do all the regions?
G/S had only the Johto and Kanto regions, so don't see the point in remaking it and putting all the regions in.

Heck it wouldn't even be wise for them, since the would do more money if they released them in seperate games.

I didn't mean to seem like I wanted this to happen in a Gold and Silver remake. What I MEANT was that eventually sometime in the future, I think it might be kool to have some kind of online pokemon game with said features.

But aside the point...

YAY remake confirmation. I'm uber excited for my birthday now <3

...and 64 MB fits half of the required pokemon data with 3D model information. Half of them. HALF. Only up through Celebi.

Note that Stadium 2 also lacked Ability and Nature data, as well as additional pokemon data for hack detection, and many moves have been added since gen2... on top of moves getting additional physical/special reclassification.

A 256MB DS game card could probably fit a DPP sized region with Stadium 2 esque models and data. I'd be shocked if they fit two regions in that, though.

- New images for Kanto/Johto Pokemon, DPP images for Hoenn/Sinnoh Pokemon.
- Red Gyarados present but not catchable.
- New PokeGear with phone, radio and new apps. DSi-exclusive camera app you save image to dsi memorys. Gold-Silver versions, you can change at Silph Co. It's backwards compatible with Poketch apps (!).

- New DSi app: Pokebox. It's a mini-Pokemon Ranch.
- Little changes on the story and some gameplay differences. Bug catching, fishing. Sweet honey replaces headbutt.
- Ho-Oh, Lugia, and the three dogs, just like in the original games.
- Kanto is available, you can obtain Kanto starters, Mewtwo and the birds. Safari Zone and Cinnabar Island are present.
- Secret islands and locations for event pokemons: Mew, Deoxys. GS Celebi event is back, though maybe it'll be removed from non-japanese versions...
- Underground, secret bases, fossils, gems. You can obtain the fossil pokemons at Cinnabar Island.
- Battle Frontier. After you finish it, you can obtain a Hoenn starter.

Not my information, but otherwise absent from this thread. Of course, take all of this with a grain of salt.

I highly doubt any of that is true, considering from where it came, and don't know why they should include a battle frontier and especially underground in G/C. It would be very off it it's true.

And those pics seem like fake. They are too similar to the D/P poketch.
And i wouldn't like the idea of a poketch in G/C. Make some new features, like having your team in the bottom screen for easy managment, but not the poketch.
