Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

good animes to watch

Started watching FMAB now, it really the same for now, except for that ice alchemist dude.

Spoilers cause I still tink its easier like this:

The part with tucker and nina still makes me feel sick. more then the entire Higurashi series. The part where ed realizes whats going on >.< wow

Mushishi is a fun one. IIRC it has the distinction of not a single cliffhanger; pretty much every episode you can have a comfortable stopping point. :) Not to say you might not want to watch more, just that it's not OMG the world's going to blow up in five minute - NEXT TIME!

Anyone here watched the Disgaea anime? I thought it was actually pretty cool, for all it wasn't faithful to the games much. English VAs are a bit shrill, though.

Maybe you'll even see your views have changed :thumb:

We'll see about that! I've got a sizable amount of anime watched in my time (300+), so for any show I watch will likely be tough to impress me.

Agreed, Ayame. Mushishi is an absolutely beautiful show.

Recent purchases that might be good watches.

Bamboo Blade, Princess Nine, Panyo Panyo Di Gi Charat, and Angleic Layer.

Some of these are "old" and maybe hard to find on DVD though.

Just finished Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit. It's really good. And the fight scenes! You'll never look at a spear the same way again.

Too bad there hasn't been a continuation of that show since that first aired. There's still so much more of the novels that need to be animated. Same for Guin Saga and Twelve Kingdoms.

Kind of surprised not seeing Clannad (+ ~After Story~) and Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica anywhere?!

Infinite Stratos was an unimpressive and predictable "traditional harem" anime. It's not anything to write home about.

There are MUCH better shows out there, as the ones others and myself have already mentioned.

Well, he could always watch Tenchi...

ALL the Tenchi.

Clannad After Story can make a ROCK cry. XD I love it, but it's not one I watch too often. It's got a surprisingly good dub, too. I actually like the dub despite having seen the whole series in Japanese first. (That doesn't happen too often...)

^Yea, Clannad ~After Story~ was by far the saddest Anime I ever watched.

From the Anime I watched (http://myanimelist.net/animelist/PX-0) I'd recommend the following (no particular order):

Bakemonogatari
Bakuman
Clannad (+ ~After Story~)
Code Geass
Death Note
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (+ Kai)
Level E
Lucky Star
Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu
Toradora!
Welcome to the NHK!

My favorite Anime of all time is Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu and I'm also playing on her (no pun intended): http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hpho...80881879_100001271447687_348479_3937323_n.jpg

I'd also like to know who watched Yosuga no Sora from Pokegym lol.

That was totally in alphabetical order.

Higurashi makes me nervous. Rightfully so rite?

Also, fans of the whole beat things up fantasy kind of anime who are starting to get a bit bored of the genre, I am actually kind of enjoying Claymore. I am by no means an experienced connoisseur, but it's a really refreshing break from Bleach - they have their unrealistic/overpowered/ridiculous moments, but for the most part the story is actually pretty convincing and you can get into the characters. Maybe my favorite part is they don't baby anyone.

But it's gory. Again. Gorier than my last recommendation. lol

The Claymore anime is decent.

The Claymore manga is many times better than the anime. Not that I didn't enjoy the anime, but it pales in comparison to the true story of Claire.

Higurashi is awesome but yes, it is extremly bloody. But then again its "not so bad" for reasons I cant explain, and it has a lot of heartwarming stuff as well. Im a complete wimp and could never watch something like saw but I loved higurashi <3. Umineko is where it gets greesy :p (I have no idea how you spell this xD)

And the "beat up fantasy" stuff is usually called "Shonen" ;)
Id recomment you to watch full metal alchemist, awesome story and actually quite tense and serious but still a shonen. Just not brain-dead. And another recommendation, one of my favorites, "Mahou sensei negima". ONLY! read the manga, the anime is trash². Also remember that it has some fan-service, especially in the first 3 volumes, which are pretty aswful.

The think with negima is that it started out as a love hina clone (same author) because that was what he was supposed to do and he just gradually changes it to what he wants it to be. It still has some pretty dirty humor so beware, but I still love it because it has villains which are actually believable and not "insert bleach villain" and have a backstory, it has a pretty decent plot which keeps me interested, a lot of good plottwists and the story really starts to shine later on when you start to put the puzzle together. And the best part is that it has a llot of references and stuff and always shows it doesnt take itself to serious. I love that series and if you can take some fanservice/dirty humor youll like it :p [/fanboy]

@SS7: Thanks, I will look for the manga. I have a bit of a preference for the obviously visible action though <_<'.

@Yoshi: I've meant to watch FMA for a while now, maybe I will just have to start on it! It seems really awesome.

I've heard some bad stuff about negima, but sounds like you know what's up (manga generally > anime in terms of story as well).

Well yes, with anime you can SEE action. I definitely concede and agree with that.

However, if I am comparing the characters, the story, and the plot: Manga>anime.
