Grass=Worst type to play?

Is it just me or is grass at a constant disadvantage throughout the entire TCG? It is weak to fire, which isn't bad, but it doesn't hit for weakness on water most of the time. Also, it doesn't have as much support as other types. I can't think of any grass decks that a competitive.

Yeah. Sceptile was the closest thing to competitive grass has had since I started playing.
Jumpluff could hardly be called a grass deck, Other than Pluff, it had nothing else grass.

This is completely opinionated theory, but I have a feeling Tsutarja's evolution will be a fast attacker.

grass actually has the most support of all the types. but it does seem to get hate from all the other type. but this upcoming season there may be some competive grass decks.

RayBees won Worlds last year, and Torterra won German Nats this year, so its not bad.

Luxpluff is also a competitive deck.

Next format will be Grass and SP decks.

Grass has Sunflora for a draw engine.
SP has the Cyrus Engine.

Whenever PL gets rotated out Grass decks will most likely dominate unless we get a good draw supporter in the next few sets.

Beedrill won Worlds last year, Jumpluff was a competitive deck this year, Torterra won German Nationals.

I don't think G decks are the absolute best, but they're just about as good as everything else, I'd say. They also have the most built-in support between both the Shaymin Lv. Xs, Sunflora, Cherrims, etc. Not to say that all/any of that stuff is good, but it's there at least.

They're typically the worst type to play in-game (video games) too due to having the most weaknesses of any type (5) while only hitting 3 types super-effective and being resisted by 5 types. They also have pretty garbage co-typing and stat distribution too like grass-poison, grass-bug, grass-flying, etc. Only the Legendary grass pokes are really all that playable.

Makes sense that they would be bad in the tcg too, lol

(** as other people have stated, they're not THAT bad in the tcg though **)

I'd agree with most of what you've said. Next time you're able, check out Ludicolo.

His water typing mitagates his grass type weaknesses to Fire and Ice, leaving only Bug, Poison, and Flying.

His great special defense leaves him vulnerable to the physical varients -or- extremely high special attacking versions of those attacking type moves, and in truth the combination of those attacking pokemon and moves are rare. Pick either swift swim or rain dish, and you can be tanking, or out-running your threats.

Oh yes. Ludicolo.

We apparently think the same way. Read my post, haha. :thumb:

I have always liked the grass type cards, and they seem to be promising next format. They have never had too much success in the current format unless its name is Jumpluff. Their are many good combos out there.

I do have a question though. I don't see why they weren't played this format because with both Claydol and Sunflora you could get set-up rather quickly. There will only be Sunflora this format.

Yea it seems like Grass has the most support. I mean, Landmin X, Cherrim SF, Tangrowth X... the list goes on.

And then Jumpluff is pretty good this season. RayBees got Worlds last year.
